A new branch of Farki has opened near Maninager ahmedabad and its a road I happen to take quite a few times a week. We saw this really simple and bright looking outletand were instantly tempted to try their famours rabdis and kulfis and so many desserts. The ambience is simple, bright and has lots of room. The few benches and chairs are lined up against the walls which have sleek flat screen tvs playing the video of the menu along with some enticingly beautiful pictures of various dishes. Unfortunately, much of these were not available.
The service is not up to mark with the man on the till not replying properly and the staff that averts their eyes each time a customer approaches them. Makes us feel unwelcome. Ive grown up eating their shrikhand and kulfi and their faluda is one of my familys favorites. So, knowing their reputation well, we ignored the staff behaviour, saw the menu and decided on rabdi kulfi. Ive had their milkshakes before and feel girishs and shambhus are better.
After we placed our order and payed for it, we were told that neither of the items were available and then the alternatives were also not available and it irritated me when the they did not inform us priorly that theycouldnt serve kulfi and without asking us, they gave us the rabdi in a really stingy sized cup. We had to ask them to take it back. Which after some explanations stating clearly that it wasnt what we wanted, they did. I am disappointed to seesuch amateur behaviour at a place which is known to be otherwise. But by the time we got the chocolate kulfi I was turned off and so there are no pictures with this review. The chocolate kulfi, the only appealing one amongst the few available, was good, but had ice all over it. Kulfi is supposed to smooth and creamy but this one had ice fillings all over. I hope that this new branch of farki improves and If I come back, I hope to try all the lovely dishes whose pictures their lcds played but the staff couldnt produce.Untill then, try the kulfis and shrikhands here but only if you must.
