Fashion, as we all know is a byproduct of Madhur Bhandar’s directorial ventures and stars the dusky beauty Priyanka Chopra in the lead role.A small town girl having big dreams to reach the ladder of success suddenly finding herself at the brink of emotional breakdown is the crux of the theme.
Priyanka is depicted as an ambitious middle class family girl who aspires to achieve the pinnacle of success in the modelling world.She leaves the secure sheltered atmosphere of her family and decides to lead her life independently.Her career takes off in the modelling world through assignments for small time brands.Later she gets introduced to the stylised fashion world and strikes rapport with the owner of one of the major modelling firms.She gets attracted to him and enters into a physical relationship with him to the extent of getting pregnant with his child.
During her relationship with him she overtakes the supermodel of fashion world, the role enacted by Kangana. But as and when she develops friction with the concerned director of the famed modelling firm she looses out the assignment and finds herself replaced by a fresh face.She gets embittered by the string of events and is forced to be exposed to alcoholics and drugs owing to despondency and frustration.
She arrives back at home and this time her family understands her deep seated emotions and they suggest her to fight back.She returns back to the big bad world of fashion and seeks assistance from her reliable and trusted friends.She gains maturity and sensitivity after going through odd situations and even decides to help Kangana out of the mental breakdown which forces her to seek refuge in an asylum.But the wounds are not healed in case of Kangana and she eventually ends her life.Priyanka is about to gain a second entry in the modelling world and after hearing the saddening news hell breaks loose for her.She develops cold feet in walking on the stage.She keeps on standing still and shocked for an appreciable duration only to open back her eyes to the reality of the material world in which human values die a natural death these days.
