Well iam a huge fan of madhur bhandarkars films. I have watched and loved all his films like chandni bar was hair rising, satta was smart and superb, page 3 was mind blowing, corporate was excellent and traffic signal was also good. And now comes yet another realistic, bold and hard hitting film of madhur which doesnt dissappoint. Fashion is real and bold. I always admire madhur for taking such novel and real subjects for his film. Fashion is from the same league as his previous films and is excellent like his previous films. The plot is bold and real and it holds u till the very end. All the characters are completely real and well written. The principle three characters of priyanka, kangana and mughdha are brilliantly written and are extremely believable and bold. The transformation of priyankas character from a small town innocent and naive girl to a bold, confident, arrogant supermodel is shown in a very nice way. Madhur bhandarkars direction is first rate. The screenplay though could have been better.
Dialogues are superb and and costumes and cinematography are excellent. Some scenes in the film leave a trmendous impact on the mind especially the scene where kangana confronts priyanka in the washroom, one where harsh chhaya scolds priyanka for arguing with him and throw her out of the show, the scene where priyanka tells arbaazs wife about her abortion, kanganas wardrobe malfunction scene and the shocking climax scene. But the scene which will stay in ur minds for days is the scene where priyanka shed all her inhibitions and get completely lost in her intoxication and sleeps with an unknown man and wakes up and realises what she has done and then breaks down. That scene is just heart breaking.Priyanka has given a soul stirring performance in that scene. Madhur bhandarkar has brilliantly shown priyankas character descent into hell in that scene. But what I liked about this film is that it does not show fashion world in a bad light and it shows that a person himself is responsible for his downfall and mistakes and not a profession. He has also shown that if once u fell that doesnt mean that u can never stand again.
I loved the message given by director and for the first time madhur has shown a culmination and not an abrupt end. Kangana and mughdha both have given a mindblowing performance and so has the entire cast. But the real hero of the film is priyanka who definitely deserves an award. music is also very melodious and peppy.Overall a memorable experience
