I knew this movie would somehow remind me of "The Devil Wears Prada" and I was right. Fashion speaks about the glittery life of the models superficially , but their painful life in reality.
The movie is expected to be female oriented , which it is reality based , which it is able to give a message , which to me , it doesn’t. It only shows us one side of the coin and thats only the bad part. I dont say I disagree to the lifestyles shown but is the fashion world ONLY cruel and bad to everybody ? Or there are some exceptions? Are we to believe that there are only bad guys in this field? Shouldnt the upcoming models already get discouraged through this , as well as their parents? Also , the high exposure to drug addiction , smoking and drinking of girls truly made it watchable only to a certain grade of people.
Movie seems dragging , boring and extremely stretchy towards the end. The repeated fashion shows makes u feel sleepy , imagine being tuned to a fashion show for 3 hours in continuation. Some ramp walks could have been avoided but I guess they are there only to increase the number of audiences.
Priyanka Chopra- She has started to fade off with time , her maturity can be seen clearly on screen now , despite of the heavy loads of makeup she puts on. She has acted beautifully , no doubts , but still I dont think she would be the only one to make this movie a hit. She is unable to leave a mark in my terms. I dont think I would be able to bear her on screen any more , especially after her repeated flops from Love Story to God Tussi Gr8 Ho to Drona and now to Fashion. Enough of Priyank on screens yaar !
Kanagana Ranaut - The only actress in Bollywood who always seems drunk and therefore she is given the roles appropriately. She has done a fabulous act again. Role of a crazy , addictive girl suits perfectly to her. She has ofcourse thrown great attitude too on the ramp , along with a bold scene , which according to me , would have been very difficult for any actress to play. Hats off to her for that. But again , her drunk behaviour again and over again seems unable to leave a mark as well.
Mughda Godse- This real life model turned actress shall be able to prove it yet again that models can act too , as a newcomer , good act from her.
The other stars have just fitted in the slot and done their parts.
There is a scene where Priyanka refuses to wear a particular type of ear-rings, despite being told that they are being worn by everybody else, saying that they are too tacky and she needs something else. She also says thanks to the person who hands her over a different pair. But in the next scene , on the ramp , she is not wearing any ear-rings at all ! Was this a last minute change Priyanka?
Overall a movie which can be missed out upon. And if needed be seen , can be seen to check out fashion shows , makeups and songs. Nothing too unique about it
