Finally I got an opportunity to watch Fashion, the much awaited movie by Madhur Bhandarkar, after watching the movie this is what I fell about it. The movie is all about, journey of the rise and fall and phoenix like re-birth of India’s number one Supermodel.
Set against the glittering backdrop of the glamorous but ruthless world of fashion world. The movie shows reality of fashion world and I feel that all cast had done an excellent job. Priyanka Chopra : Excellent carried herself extremely well, feel her role was quiet a bold role and she did complete justice to the role ( personally I feel there was more glamor and sensuousness in her role, I had a feeling kangana ranaut role would be that of sensuous.
Kangana Ranuat: Good role, she carried herself well, but somewhere you begin to feel that she has limited arsenal as her inventory, USP being bold care free character.. she plays a similar role even in the film
Mughda Gose: Ok role, her role was sort of supporting actress role and she did fairly well..
Arbaaz Khan: Good, looked mean as what was required for the movie
Sameer Soni: I feel he has a great career ahead of him, right from the Jassi days he seems to be a matured and evolved actor, would like to see more of him in next films, his personality sort of compliments such reality cinemas...
Kittu Gidwani, Suchitra Pillai and other... quite does not make any difference all of them had sultry role and I feel anyone could have pulled this role with similar skills, none of these performances seemed extra ordinary
Overall Movie
The movie revolves around a budding model from a small town who wants to make it big in the modeling industry. Then it is a tale of how she goes about achieving her ambitions and about the relations she builds / destroys through the journey. Once at top, she becomes victim of ruthless fashion world and how people turn a blind eye once you not anymore on top.
The most interesting element is about the journey from rags to riches. Priyanka portrays the pain and plight of struggling model with almost near to reality.
In all, I feel it is a great movie, only wish Madhur B. had put some more focus on how media plays an important role in the industry, would have been better if this was tied to the main story...
