Damaged/ second hand goods and bad customer care

I hate to criticize anything or anyone, but this website has tested my patience to its limit.


This website was recommended to me by a friend. Together we used to look through all the fancy looking objects and wonder at the prices. Then finally I started ordering...and the nightmare started.


The first object I ordered was a designer perfume for my husband. It got  delivered withing a week and I was happy.


Next I ordered a photo frame...after 15 days of waiting when I checked the Order history it showed Delivered!!! I checked the order tracking ID and called customer care. They insisted it was delivered. I should check with people at home!! I called the courier service then, and found that the order tracking# was for some order for Panjim, Goa. I was like excuse me....I don’t stay in Goa, I stay in Gurgaon!!


I called customer care again. This time they said they’ll check and let me know....what did they check last time I called??


Finally after calling them everyday for 5 days, they agreed to return my money....


I still regularly logged into FnY thinking everyone makes mistakes....they did too...but atleast they returned my money...


Next I ordered a blackberry..this time on cash on delivery. They claim that they deliver products in 3 to 4 weeks. They made sure exactly 4 weeks had passed, and I had made atleast 10 calls, each time either to hear that the product was dispatched. I don’t know which courier takes 20 days to deliver a product within India...but that’s the time it took after the product was dispatched. The phone arrived in a un-sealed box, with scratch marks all over it, the paint chipped of from one corner. My husband scolded me..."never buy electronic goods from websites" he said.


I was a fool, I still checked FnY everyday. I ordered an embroidered skirt next. This one took 45 days (I had actually given up hope and given up calling). When it finally reached it was the most damaged piece of clothing I have ever purchased. On some parts I could only see needle marks where the embroidery should have been. Wherever the embroidery was there, the threads were coming off already. Am I supposed to believe this is a new piece of clothing???!!!


But finally I have learnt my lesson. Being punctual and sending the right product was an exception of this site. And exceptions only happen once, not every time. I have finally stopped checking out goods in FnY.
