Real beautiful moments!

Well I am so happy thinking of all the good time I had when I was a kid. I have good time even now. I remember the days when there was not much of hassle in life other than school and play. Ah what a feeling.

Apart from favourite books of childhood I would also like to share the days especially the way I used to enjoy listening stories from my bapuji(grand father). We used to sleep on a khat(cot) in the open at night, just after dinner with our bapuji and listen to the stories. Those stories were so beautiful and full of morals that I still see how true they are in day-to-day life.

The stories were chhaka-maka the old folk tales of Gujarat. It was about 2 notorious men who always tried on something and ended up with trouble themselves(?Tantri the mantri? sort-of) But they were really hilarious, they was my grand father used to narrate. He himself used to laugh and make us laugh too? we never knew when we used to fall asleep also. I even used to dream about the story.(Will write a review on effective story telling) It was about a pair who were so foolish who tried to kill the king and take away the kingdom but always unsuccessful. They were from book called?chhaka-Maka?

Another one being Akbar-Birbal, it was about Birbal?s wit and his readiness for answers, as said hajar jawaab. It also illustrated how ego and anger leads to difficulties, other issues like no discrimination in religion etc. Good book to read.

One of my favourite is Noddy(that was later when I developed interest in English reading) I had a book Noddy I forgot the title but my dad brought it and believe me I used it for more than 10 years. It had not only stories but had games like snakes and ladder with noddy characters like Tessie bear, big ears etc. It also had small stories about friendship, honesty and simplicity which I realise were so beautiful and true.

Another one my friend was tinkle. There was one time where I read almost all edition of Tinkle? Supandi is my favourite? tantri the mantri, stories, Facts and jokes were all fun? I can even read one now? J I loved to fill up the missing dialogue in the joke.

In my teens or before maybe when I was 10, I loved reading Archies. It was fabulous. There I learnt about friendship, love and jealousy fashion what not! I love Jughead because he resembles me a lot. Eat, Eat and Eat! And I love Archie(psst? I had a crush on him) I liked betty and hated veronica. It was real fun. We kids used to fight to read those books.

Other books include recent ones of chacha chowdhary, which I didn?t like much thought it was exaggeration always? and also diamond comics when they used to telecast on radio. It was our favourite when we had a nap in afternoon?.

I thank God for giving us all a precious gift of childhood?. So guys now you make your kids? childhood wonderful with these stories and books. Really a must for children. After all books are true friends.
