Those were the days...........

I remember that I used to read a lot of books in my childhood. They were of wide variety: from comics in Hindi and English to story books in the same languages.

Lets talk about the books I used to read. I remember that the first book I laid my hands on was an Enid Blyton(who else!) in sixth class. I liked it so much that I read all the Blyton books available in our school library as well as the city library.

Then I tried my hands on Hardy Boys. It was pure fun. Then Came Nancy Drew. I feel that I like the books on latter more than the former. Dana Girls books were also good.

My brother brought a book of Ruskin Bond and then reading Bond started. One should at least read a Bond book.

Then came Feluda(by Satyajit Ray). I always liked detective stories and adventures of Feluda made me stick to the book till the end. Narayanan’s books are also a great read! So simple and yet has everything a book should have, sly humor, emotions etc.

The books which I liked the most and would recommend are:

  1. The Three Investigators series(foreward by Alfred Hitchcock)

  2. Five Find Outers series by Enid Blyton.

I read these books till date and they make me go to those golden days of my childhood. Its great!
