If you go through Federal bank website, they have option open savings bank account online with virtual KYC, they have also advertised in such a way that you can instantly start using their banking service along with mobile banking. Apparently I was bluffed by what they have mentioned on their website hoping that it was true and thy live by their statements.
On 2nd of October, 2021 I had opened my savings bank account with Federal bank, Tumkur branch, Karnataka. Only after opening the account I came to know that apparently you cannot use online services without the ATM card and when I contacted their customer care, they first asked to me wait for 7 to 14 working days to receive my ATM card via post or else I can visit the branch to get the instant debit card. Since I was very in need of using the bank account, I agreed to visit their Tumkur branch to avail the instant debit card, but it was my first experience visiting them in person was just a horrible experience. executives at Federal Bank, Tumkur branch has no sense of listening to customer and their issues, without even listening to my they simply discarded by saying they cannot issue the instant debit and asked to wait for welcome kit arrival.
With not have much options, I decided to wait for the next 2 weeks, yet again after 2 weeks when I contacted their contact center to follow up on my debit card request, they didnt give me any response and simply discarded my request without telling me the truth that the card was not even dispatched.
After mutiple attempts over the phone call, now on 25th of Oct, they are saying the card will be dispatched shortly saying because of some issues on the RBI policies.
The bank has no sense of communication to the customers, unless you call and ask them what is the statue they never tell you. Even in the first they always lie with awful excuses without telling the truth. They are not a reliable bank whom you can trust upon.
There are really some good banks out their in the market and don’t be trapped by their nice advertisement gimmicks think thrice before you opt for Federal bank to be your long term banking partner.
