Feeling Minnesota

Starring Keanu Reeves, Vincent D’Onofrio and Cameron Diaz, this relatively less talked about movie hits you with stark realities about the American way of life. Get a close up look at how the average American really lives and feels.

A dark, gray tale about Jjacks(Reeves) and his love for Freddie, the wife (Diaz) of his brother Sam (D’Onofrio). Having been released from prison and forced to attend his brothers wedding, which is nothing close to one, an immediate chemistry builds between Jjacks and Freddie which basically keeps the plot moving through an intricate maze of feelings, betrayal, misunderstandings and pure hatred between the brothers. At many points in the movie, you try to reassert yourself about who’s loyal to whom and who you really want to see and the good guy, or girl. Jjacks, a prison returnee and social outcast who’ll go to any extent for his new love. Freddie, a girl with the Vegas dream who also keeps you in the dark about where her real loyalties lie. Sam, a neurotic accountant at a club that’s also robbing his boss through the books and who’ll also go to any extent to have Freddie. Also, see Courtney Love, of Hole and Kurt Cobain fame, in a role that has no real meaning unless you want to interpret it stoned or something.

All in all, an extraordinary story about ordinary people.
