Feng-shui is a household name today, thanks to the musical notes of the wind chimes which adorn almost every individuals home, but there is much more to feng shui than just this. Unlike vaastu shastra which requires some major changes in a particular area, feng-shui revolves around directions and things kept in specific areas.
I have been an avid reader of feng-shui articles and would like list some of the most common known tips:
I t is very important to keep your house / office free from dust, as dust attracts negative energy.
Clearing unwanted clutter is also equally important as not doing so will block that area of your office / house that could cease any movement there.
Keeping the lid of the bathroom wc down as well as keeping the bathroom doors shut as it again attracts negative energy.
If there are too many windows in the house, keeping little rock salt in a small vessel in the window will motivate the flow of positive energy.
While sweeping the floor, little rock salt should be added to the water as this attracts positive energy.
The space near the main door should be clean and clutter free. A three legged toad(which has a coin in the mouth)can be kept near the main door facing inwards on the floor. make sure that the right side of the coin is up, as in one side has four symbols thats is the one that should be facing upwards.
No daggers or swords or any type of sharp objects should not be kept in the show piece as this might affect the relationship in that area.
Couples should not have tv sets in their rooms as it works as mirror in the night. similarly bed should be positioned in such a way, that if there is any mirror in the room, the bed is not visible from it as it affects relationships.
Couples should have 1 joint mattress laid down on their bed.
Singles can keep two fresh roses in their marriage corner to attract marriage prospects.
All non functioning things should not be kept in the house like stop watches, electronics etc.
Laughing buddhas are good for attracting money however, they should be kept at a high position not in the same level as other show pieces, and it is believed that rubbing its stomach thrice every day attracts money.
Your house should not be facing a hospital / graveyard etc.
There should not be any leaking taps in your house, if there are get it fixed immediately.
Once you wake up, cheerful clapping near the four corners of your house is good as it will attract positive energy and ensure you have a good day.
These are very basic feng shui tips. Its may take some time to be effective. There are a whole lot of other things, but you really cant live with so many hangups really, unless you have some serious obstacles coming your way for which you require to hire a professional expert that too someone you know is good and recognised, you might find lots of street walker kinds. While buying a new house, it is always advisable to take it keeping vaastu or feng shui in mind.
Whats important is to keep your house / office as clutter free as possible as it attracts negative energy. Also my personal belief is that nothing is more powerful than a positive mindset, which can ward off any kind of obstacles.
