I brought a fiat linea diesel emotion pack flamenco red from Concorde motors Cochin last week.I own a Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi and hence brought the linea after test driving most of the Csegment cars and suv"s.I had read most of the reviews about linea from leading auto magazines and from the net.
The car looks great and surely deserves the slogan admiration guaranteed .The smooth flowing lines, attractive colour tones and majestic appearance impart a very elegant image befitting a D segment car.The two tone interiors look great and the overall plastic quality is quite good.The automatic ac in emotion pack with rear vents work very well to chill the car quickly.The blue and me facility, unique to this car is a great boon to receive and make calls while driving and it even reads sms very well.The overall fit and finish inside is remarkable and so are the orange lit dials and drive information including fuel efficiency. The driving position is comfortable but fiat should have added lumbar support .The boot space is enormous and the leg space in rear is quite adequate. The doors close with a very solid feel and the car feels very sturdy during driving.
I had read about this car being underpowered but I dont think so .I think the gear ratios are responsible for this feeling and the second gear feels so initially but once the turbo picks up the car gathers momentum.The car does not stall at low speeds in fourth gear and this is very useful for city drives.At present I am getting an highway average of 20km/l and 16 km/l in city with ac on and I think this will improve after first service.
The staff at Concorde motors Cochin were very helpful and the sales executive Mr Austin brought the test vehicle thrice to my house 70 kms from Cochin before I made the decision to buy this.They were very patient with no pressure on me to seal the deal fast.The showroom in Cochin is very neat .posh and very customer friendly .They answered all my queries and even kept the showroom open on Sunday for delivery of the car.
I have no hesitation in recommending Fiat Linea diesel as a great family car with lots of feel good factor and value for money.
