I recently bought my new Palio Multijet SDE from RF Motors Kochi. Dealership experience was not quite that great, although they had sent a lot of apologies for the delay in delivery of vehicle. Actually I was planning to buy i10kappa, when I compared the final price and other aspects I decided to go for the Multijet. Waiting period for the swift is long and has to spend more.
SDE has central locking front power windows and fog lamps. I had to buy left side rear view mirror which costs around Rs.1800. Stereo system which came as an offer with the car is only having USB and front door speakers.
The cars build quality is superb and feels solid. The car really comes alive at 2000 rpm and pulls like mad upto 3k rpm. You can easily cruse at 80kmph in 5th gear below 2k rpm and thrill starts after that. Pothholes are handled better at highway speeds. You will not loose confidence on cornering at good speeds. Engine noise is noticeable above 100k speeds but is negligible. AC quality is excellent, during evening rides only the first fan level is enough to chill the cabin.
I have done 2 long rides with my new palio, one from Cochin to Madurai and another to Kanyakumari. Palio offers lot of cabin space and I had my 6 member family with me in almost all rides, backseat somehow adjusts 4 persons and the car still cruises easily at 100k speeds. I didnt liked the reverse gear lock and anti cranking feature although. I am getting around 22kmpl with AC on most of the time. I started my long trips after 1st service and my odo now ready 3.8k
I wish the company had offered alloy wheels as a standard fitment, alloy wheels looks great with palio. I faced few small problems with my car, the injection failure signal is coming on during rides. I reported this to RF and they told me that the problem is with the accelator sensor unit. RF wasted lot of my valuable time, and they were not even willing to give a warranty replacement of this unit. After this I switched to Concord to rectify this complaint and they are atleast willing to troubleshoot with sensor replacement. I think I will never go to RF service again for any complaints.
Tips: There has been no clear guidelines to use which type of diesel, premium/ordinary? From my experience multijet likes ordinary fuel. There has been few instances of injection failure alarm when I filled premium fuels like xtramile and highspeed disel.
Overall New Palio Multijet is a good family car which can give you both power and mileage at an attractive package.
Concorde motors gave me warranty replacement of accelerator sensor unit on second service which caused the fuel injection failure alarm signal to come-up during rides.
