We have a Fiat Palio S10 purchased in August 2003.
The vehicle has been facing starting trouble from day one of the
purchase (the vehicle has at present clocked only an approx. 6000 odd
kmss till date). This was notified to M/s. Angad automobiles
repeatedly, the battery was also replaced once by Angad under Warranty.
The problem still persisted and the mechanics at Angad Auto repeatedly blamed this on the battery, which is pertinent to note has been replaced approx 4 times till date.
Finally for the last time after my persisting with the folks at Angad
they agreed to have a look at the same. They again blamed this on the
battery, so I bought a sealed battery and took the vehicle to Angad
then Mr. Mahesh (Supervisor) at Angad agreed to check for the fault.
Now to my utter surprise they said I need to replace the Alternator at
my own cost as it was out of warranty.I seriously fail to understand
that why I need to bear the cost for the same as this is a serious
error on the part of the service centre in diagnosing the same earlier.
Further to add insult to injury they damaged my car and made a dent on
the left fender, I refused to take the car until the dent was mended
by them. The Works manager Mr.Manish agreed to have the dent mended and
speak to folks at Fiat to have the alternator issue resolved.Which
seems to not be the case as the alternator issue is still not
resolved.
And as I final parting gift when my car was returned (without the
alternator replacement)it started missing on the way home
(which is just 1 km from Angad), my driver immediately drove it back
to Angad and then Mr. Mahesh at Angad said that this was due to a
blown coil and I need to pay Rs. 1700/- to have the coil replaced. The
car was in perfect working condition apart from the starting woes.I
feel making a person pay for faults bought in by the service center is
absolutely wrong and amounts to breach of trust and cheating.Angad had
earlier refused to even mend the front and rear bumpers which have
faded, and asked me to have the same done through anuroop auto.
The Only reason I have taken my car to Angad, despite of knowing its
bad reputation, is because of its close proximity to my house.
I am at loss of words to describe the service centers policy in
customer satisfaction.Angads bad reputation is well known from fellow
fiat owners. I am seriously contemplating action against this service centre.
I am yet to recieve a response from Fiat ( at the time of posting this ) on this.
I wish to caution fellow fiat owners to be careful of Angad Auto !
