Hi. I have read many reviews from all friends. but this is the first time I am writing one. I have a 1.6 GTX 2002 model purchased 2nd hand. This car is simply awesome. I have driven HOnda City, Ford Ikon 1.6, Santro, Zen, Alto.etc. but the comfort which I get from Palio 1.6 is beyond comparison.
This october I went to Kerala from Pune. Till Belgaum the road was extra good. After Belgaum, till Mangalore except some patches road was the worst. Literally there was no road. All big big potholes. I cannot explain the condition. After seeing the road, I thought I would have to collect the parts and pieces of my car and take another means for transport. But to our surprise my car did not give any problem. That’s when I really came to know the worth of Palio 1.6 GTx.
On the highway, overtaking was just fun. There were four adults and one kid plus lot of luggage(whatever I can put in the boot) It was raining very badly almost all over the travel. from Pune to Belgaum it took only 5 hours for me. I would have reached home on the same day, but because of the condition of the road, I had to stay in between. I will give below some important points:
Engine: Soild and smooth. It is a dream driving on highways.
Suspension: The best
Brakes: Good, but little slow. once you are used to it, then no pblm
Steering. Another best part of this car. very easy, predictable and responsive.
Fuel Efficiency: 14-15 on highwas fulll laod with ACand 8-10 in city.
Conclusion:
Those who have a passion for driving, want to have a sturdy, saftey and sporty car, then no second thogut GO FOR PALIO 1.6. It is sad that 1.6 GTX is not producign now. I think it’s mileage when compared to the engine capacity is at par with Santro, VagonR, Swift etc.
