I got palio stile multijet sdx on 23rd aug. Living in 150kms away from a showroom, having not seen or test driven, I bought by the reviews and got it delivered.
I bought a matiz in jan 99, later feb 2005 I bought a honda city. I gave the matiz to my wife and now thought of replacing matiz with palio.
Having driven only petrol cars in life. The palio was difficult to handle. It is something like a race horse. And after getting used to it after few days it is really is impressive. It just flies like rocket.
Looks are quite good. New Lamps and finish are good.
The paint is ordinary with local finish. Doesn’t have the finish of japanese cars.
3. Car is of solid build and like a muscle car
Door handles are decent. Key is like a bike key, not impressive and are only two not three. one going with bank you are left with one only.
Opening the bonnet is by a plastic lever which you have to pull and lift the bonnet.
This can be used miscreats to trouble you.
Rear view mirrors are sick and serve little purpose as the vertical height is very less.
The steering is very tight and you cannot believe there is power steering.
Dash board is good.
- The fabric of the seat and the door side panels are of low quality. You may have to put seat covers. Door panels do not have much storage space.
9. Central lock works with passenger side also. You are saved from reminders from wife.
10 . Prewiring for all speakers including the tweeters in the mirror lever assembly and antenna.
Front two power windows are on the door of the driver. Rear two are in the center in front of the gear. The front left power window does not have lock facility.
Not even a single cup holder not much compartments to keep anything. Very sick you can’t even carry a coke can, forget about the beers.
Seat belt, door open warning signs missing.
The pedal console is very congested. Clutch is very tough or tight, little irritating to drive.
Boot is very good for an hatchback.
16. If you are used to petrol car you’ll need to get used this flying horse. Highways it just flies.
- Engine is noisy, you can hear it well.
If you want to compare with swift and dezire which have same engines as I have heard. I would definitely wish fiat stop making cars and just sell their engines to all. Others are better off finishing them to be lovely cars.
Fiat palio is of solid build quality. If you do not care for simple and many of the things of present generation, a great car to drive.
It truly is a muscle car and you have to be a little muscle man to drive also. A car of the 90’s I still feel.
If I am given an option of buying again, I would not.
