Its been really long since I haven’t written a review on MS due to my busy work schedules, but its really nice to be back writing on MS again.
Since I work for a entertainment marketing house I normally get to watch all the movies in advance, but sadly don’t get the time to write a review on them on MS.
But now have got some days off so thought would brush up my writing skills by writing reviews on MS.
I was called for a special screening of Fightclub yes, which was kept only for the media & believe me the media people just couldn’t stop complaining about the movie.
FC is a story about a bunch of friends Zayed, Dino, Ritesh & Ashish who are studying in college & do some small jobs to earn pocket money. One fine day Zayed stumbles upon an idea to start a club called Fightclub where they arrange fights for people who want to settle their scores with each other.
But due to some unfortunate circumstances they all have to go to delhi to look after a pub called Crossroads. This pub is owned by Ritesh’s uncle who is under the constant threats of the underworld kingpins Rahul Dev, Ashmit, Yash Tonk.Ritesh’s uncle gets killed by the underworld & the whole responsibility of the pub now falls on the FC members.
They also add an extra member to their club in the form of Sohail Khan who previously has been an ace bouncer.
It is now a fight between the underworld & FC members to save Crossroads.Things become worse when Yash Tonk , brother of the once underworld head Sunil Shetty gets killed & the blame falls on the FC members.
The story could have been interesting but thanks to the shoddy direction, weak script & poor background music which don’t make the movie look interesting at all.Infact the second half is a complete drag with the Sohail-Neha Dhupia love track(looks soooooooooo forced) & the unnecessary fights shown.
The music is also plain mediocre except for ‘Yeh Khuda’ which is quite catchy.
As far as the performances go except for Sohail, Zayed & Dino no one has much to do in the film.
Sohail looks cool & relaxed & the character of the bouncer suits him perfectly, Dino looks good & acts quite well but he needs to work on his dialogue delivery, Zayed looks routine as the cool dude college going stud, Ritesh is good in a serious role but I feel he’s better of doing comedy, Ashish irritates a lot & doesn’t look funny at all.
Sunil Shetty doesn’t has much to do but looks good & does his part well, Ashmit looks wicked & has a strong role but unfortunately he doesn’t know to carry it, Rahul dev is fair, Yash Tonk hams outrageously.
The leading ladies are just relegated to the backseat & they add to the glamour quotient.
Overall the movie is very disappointing inspite of very good publicity & a huge starcast.
