Filling Station is not an A-listed pub in Bangalore, but it is one of those few friendly neighbourhood joints which serve some decent food and drinks at a very reasonable price. I happened to be there last weekend and found the place quite nice.
The pub or bar(no fuss) had a good stock of liquor, and all the things displayed on the menu were available, unlike many other joints which display jazzy menus but dont have most of them in stock. The waiters- most of them hired from local bars- were friendly and polite, and would not make faces at you even if you were one of those hard-to-please customers. The beer section of the menu was good, and I was surprised to find Corona(amazing beer) listed in it. I was almost sure the waiter would say something like "no stock saar" when I asked for it, but he actually produced 3 chilled pints for me and my friends. I liked the way the waiters took turns to check what we needed and ensure that our mugs were always full.
The food section was not so impressive, but like I said, the offering was decent enough for the price quoted. We tried the Huli Chicken and the Dragon Chicken, both crisy fried shreds of chicken marinated in their respective sauces, and both went well with our beer.
The music was just loud enough for having a decent conversation without having to shout into each others ears!
A good four rounds of drinks and snacks costed us around Rs 1200 which I thought was extremely economical. I would certainly go there again, and again. Cheers!
