An old respected film magazine, Filmfare also has a 5 decade old legacy of the Filmfare awards behind it. Any film buff worth his salt would want to fall back on the trivia given here before he goes looking for it elsewhere.
The magazine, over the years has established its reputation for classic features, public opinion polls, back page columns by the unstoppable Shotgun Sinha (earlier columnist being the irrepressible I.S Johar) and several other exclusive features which one cannot possibly get in any other film magazine. Some of the most reputed names in the field of film journalism associate themselves with Filmfare, lending it the much needed authenticity.
This has also, to some extent, saved the magazine from being relegated to the category of mere gossip journal or what is infamously known as Yellow Journal. However, in recent years, we have witnessed a sharp decline in the quality and standards of the magazine as well as the Filmfare Awards. Some of the lost credibility has to be regained in order to sustain readership.
