It sells Dream Sellers!

I am a movie buff. But Surprsingly I have started reading Filmfare magazine from the past 2 months.I don’t know what kept me from redaing these earlier. One fine day as I was passing in front of a road side book shop, this Magazine(November edition) arrested my attention. And impulsively I bought it.

In General:

This is a Magazine that truly reflects the current indian film industry.Even the prestigious Filmfare awards match its name. There are articles, gossips, latest film news, box office results for the month,

artiste of the month, interviews of your favourite stars and Behind the scenes information. They also feature some cool cover stories covering some theme, like the Decembers edition one being the Best of Bollywood.( Mind you it is not only about Bollywood, these days they are also focusing on Kollywood, Tollywood).

They also have Posters of your favourite artistes in between the pages.Apart from that every photo they have on any page is itself very stylish and poster like.(Like the ones you would cut from the magazines and put in your rooms!) I simply love the pictures itself. But there is a lot this magazine offers apart from photos. They shed light on your star throgh their exclusive interviews.( I think film stars consider it prestigious to be interviewed by Filmfare).

Critics:

Despite the goods , this magazine is criticised for focussing only a handful of their pet stars like Shahrukh, Salmaan, Saif, Preity etc. In short some even say that it only caters to Karan Johar like audience.(All this info I read through readers Mail columns in the magazine). Some of them even highlighted the absence of star like Aamir Khan whom they say is in the FilmFare Blacklist!!

Not even his name is mentioned in certain references to him.But Filmfare has given its own reasons for this.

Personal Opinion:

Whatever the critics say I personally liked the magazine for one simple reason, that they provide the exclusive information of the indian Film industry and my favourite stars. By the way this magazine is real handy during travel and is also an interesting read.Considering that its a monthly magazine its price is also pretty decent, 35 bucks only. I liked the December edition of Filmfare as it gave a glipmse of Bollywood successes in terms of top actors, actresses, directors, musicians, lyricists etc.

Its a collectors issue too.
