Filmistan - There is Hindustan and Pakistan. However one province that dominates these two is Filmistan. .its a religion. Nitin Kakkar ventures into making this offbeat film where two people obsessed with films and Bollywood strike a common chord and work against all odds to achieve their goal and keep the word. The director has opted for a foreground of terrorism and the prevalent tension between two nations, kidnapping and ransom against a strong background of Bollywood entertainment and belief in a filmy way of living life by the two protagonists. How these two blend to meet the common ground is something for the audiences to watch. The entire casting of the movie is fresh. Sunny and Aftab are brilliant on screen and move with ease. The supporting cast is good. Music is average. Tough a 1.5 hour film the pace drags at times. Some scenes are hilarious especially when Sunny mimics the Bollywood artists and directs his own video asking for ransom to the Indian government. Overall a good entertainer. Creativity is at its best when the purest of the souls are involved and doesnt fade without touching the hearts of the ruthless even. I would rate this simple and honest effort as 3.
