ROLLER COASTER...OF DEATH!

I have this congenital weakness for thrillers...and no matter how negative some reviews go, I try not missing out on any of them..hollywood/bollywood no bar.

lacklusture ones obviously put me (or anyone for that matter) off...but the well made ones are just something else!

and a "well made" package to me is an alliance of a solid script, effective direction, expert cinematography and crisp editing...all these besides authentic screenplay and performances.

and let me assure you readers, Final Destination 3 is all this and more! I have viewed all the three parts actually,  and all I can comment is that the series keeps getting better and more electrifying (yeah literally!) with every volume.

Wendy Christensen (mary elizabeth winstead), kevin fischer (ryan merriman), jason wise and carrie dreyer are friends and high school soon-to-be graduates. the film opens with the four of them, and their other batch mates, in an amusement carnival running with a theme of "death".

wendy happens to click pictures of some of them, which is shown very inconsequentially, perhaps to retain the shock value of the viewers for later!

the plot embarks when the four decide to ride the biggest attraction of the carnival....the roller coaster. Wendy is reluctant initially...a lot.., but gives in to boyfriend jason’s cajoling.

before the ride begins to roll, she has this dangerous premonition of the entire coaster collapsing, without a sole survivor..all of them dyeing brutally.

she desperately tries blocking the ride to go, but well....what is to happen, happens. though she does manage to discourage, or rather disappeal some kids off the ride, including kevin; their partners jason and carrie die.

eventually, wendy researches and discovers that all the survivors who got off the ride will die too...in the same sitting pattern as they were meant to in the first place...and the clues lie hidden in the pictures clicked by herself!

the rest of the movie has wendy and kevin trying to convince a bunch of skeptic survivor kids of their gory demises, the snap clues and their safety of movement...resulting in miserable failures.

watch it to experience every episode..it is worth it!

Mary performs very real, and kevin fischer is comendable too. the surprise package, to me, was amanda crew (plays julie). she looked tremendous and emoted great!

soundtrack passable. I liked "roller coaster of love" by the Ohio Players..though its guitar prelude still gives me the creeps...thats what plays while ashley and ashlyn get roasted to death! ugh...!

finally people, i’ll leave you with what I really like about the Final Destiation series.

that is, its maintained crux:

*"every death has a unique design, and you cannot cheat it..."

cheers!
