I just chanced upon mouthshut askin’ for an assessment on Fire n as I used to be quite a customary figure out there, I thought that my judgment would definitely count. So here goes nothin’…
As I said I WAS a regular there… I think that in itself should insinuate what my opinion is gonna be. Fire used to rule once upon a time. They had lotsa nights where the DJs used to really rock the house. But for the past few months the place has really started to suck. As I believe in no-nonsense criticism here’s my estimation why :
1.Fire doesn’t have a good crowd nowadays. The crowd that manages to get into Fire are the ones that were kicked out of Athena’s and the other happening joints in Bombay or the ones that didn’t get an admission, thanks to the actuality that the places were filled to capacity.
2.The place was purportedly refurbished a few months back, but upon my visit a few weeks back, the place still has a dreary ring to it.
3.The service is far better than the ones that you might obtain at the other discs but for what you are payin’, you unquestionably aren’t getting’ ur money’s worth.
4.The dance-floor though outsized by most yardsticks, is too small to fit the crowd that carves inroads to Fire on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
5.The music has pretty much deteriorated over the years and Fire can’t hold a torch to the other pubs n discs in the city.
6.You might have to kill time for over half an hour to knock down a drink for yourself. Incidentally, that is the sum total of time it takes to get from the foyer to the bar.
So if you really wanna have a good time without getting’ stomped upon and feelin’ dry like a whale-bone without a drink in ur hand, you might wanna try some of the other discs mushroomin all over Bombay.
