I have not written much of movie reviews. But as soon as I came out of this movie, I felt responsible, Very responsible in fact, to save others from this trouble of watching the movie – FIREWALL. There were two things that were very good about the movie – 1. The title effects and 2. The interval.
Usually here in MS, longer reviews have been ‘Very useful’ for most. But lesser said about the movie, the better. So I shall keep it short. This is a story of a bank ‘network security’ officer. This in itself should reveal the plot. Yes, his house goes under siege of the bad guyz and they threaten to kill his family if he does not do what they want him to do. And what they want him to do is do some wire-transfer of some million dollars. And, how our protagonist overcomes so many difficulties and saves his family, whilst save the banks’ funds is the story.
I am seriously tired of this ‘get threatened + all fine in the end’ movies. This one comes with a blanket of being a tech movie. Even earlier movies right from the days of terminator have used more technological terms in their movies. The movie fails to interest in this aspect too. The director would have probably felt that an overdose of technology would be lesser comprehensible. You happen to hear few things like ‘remote host’, ‘hack’, ’gps’ and that is all the technology you get.
I have nothing to speak about the cast as well. Actually, I do not watch that much movies for me to remember actors and their names. That could probably be a reason. Few familiar faces and that helped me spend some time in the theatre thinking in what movie I have seen them. The humor was dull, and dialogues were dry. Watch the movie in a good theatre, you will get some good sound effects; but just that they are not in sync with the movie!
But somehow I felt there was some serious sincere attempt to make a good movie, but failed miserably. I feel bad to have given it one star (there is no zero star); I mean the rating. I may sound very critical, but this movie does not have anything worth saying.
Conclusion: I felt bad to end my weekend with this movie. Do not let it spoil yours.
