I placed an order on 23rd Jan 2006 for the book ’’At All Costs’’ by David Weber, Baen Publishing being the publisher. The book has to be imported and it is not available even in leading bookstores like Crossword or Landmark. I am a great fan of the author and specially the character, ’’Honor Harrington’’ created by him.
I placed an order for this book on 23rd Jan 2006 on firstandsecond.com. At the time, I had not gone through the reviews on this site. I saw them only the next day, and I thought that since this was a matter of about Rs. 1100, I’d see what happens, as it’s not a very big sum of money. I kept logging onto firstandsecond.com to see my order status. The shipping time on the site was mentioned as 24 to 29 days. So I was just counting the number of days. When the book did not ship by the 24th of Feb, 2006, I thought I also belonged to the long list on folks who have not received stuff. But lo and behold... this morning (27th Feb 2006), I have a courier deliver the book to me.... BRAND NEW.... and with the CDROM which is part of the book....
I must say that I’m impressed with the service of Firstandsecond.com.. Perhaps others have had bad experiences with the site... but for me personally, it has just been too good..
