First send them money - Second Forget it.

I visited the Reliance Webworld and happened into their Broadband Internet Café and saw a screen saver ‘Firstandsecond.com’ India’s biggest book store and it brought back the memories of that fine morning 3 years ago, when I wanted to call up a friend with whom I hadn’t spoken for a long time.

After burning a lot of grey cells, I couldn’t really get myself to remember his phone number.

Which made me do a google to find out if there are some books to help me enhance my memory, incidentally my wife was not around - for she always dislikes my habit of buying a book on some subject and then piling it up, without reading it of course, with the others in my borer ridden book-shelf.

Well my search threw up a couple of books, and after some research I decided on buying: -

Power Reading: The Fastest, Best, Easiest Course on Speedreading and Comprehension Ever Developed!

Ostrov, Rick

Satisfied with my research – the next step was to find the closest store to the mouse cursor on my screen.

I clicked https://firstandsecond.com which the site says is ‘India’s Biggest Book Store’.

Going through their search and find thing – I finally placed the order for the book I was looking for and paid by visiting the Global Trust Bank and depositing my cheque in their favor.

Well all I had to do was to wait for 14-19 days before I could get the book delivered to my doorstep – finally on the 20th day I sent an email to the customer service inquiring about my order.

The reply came: -

With reference to your order number 00213-70400-00010.

Since the title under your order is an International title and being procured from our International sources, which takes about 14-19 days in shipment

Well Hello – it’s the 20th day today!!

Called them up a couple of times – even threaten to file a case with the CyberCop, but it was all in vain!

I still haven’t received the book neither the refund – it was an experience that I will never forget.

I write down my phone numbers so that I don’t have to buy a book to memorize them- Now where the heck did I keep my phonebook……………
