WIth high membership fees one also expects a high quality of customer service. But seems like all multinational companies in India focus only on the first aspect and not on the latter.
Lack of stringent laws supporting the customer and apathy from government quarters lead these multinationals to make a fool of Indian customers. It is hardly surprising then why India is such a favorite destination of the world market right now - it is the dumpyard of the century.
Fitness First is one sich company who is over pricing for the same services as offered in various countrues and on top of that giving horrendeous customer service. They are only interested in you joining the gym and post that whether you are coming once in a month or have injured yourself while working out due to lack of any sort of expert guidance (unless of course you are willing to loosen your purse strings further), they could not care less.
Instead of suing the company for their callousness, all I wanted was a refund of the one month fees in which I could not attend the gym as a result of a ligament tear. Despite promising to do so on presentation of a medical certificate, I have been waiting for 3 months for the refund to come.
Cancelation policy worldwide is 3 months but for us wealthy Indians it is 10 months. If you want to cancel before that please pay 2 month fees (6500) which as a favor has been reduced to 5000 for a limited period. And believe me, you might just be a fool for not exercising this option and getting the hell out of there!
