I went to the Fitness One center in Brookfields above Reliance Fresh. The girl explained the annual membership details but I wanted to try it before joining, so asked for a free trial and got three days.
I went on a Wednesday morning and not surprsingly there was hardly anybody in the gym which was good. I was introduced to the trainer, a young guy barely out of his teens. Ive been a regular at fitness clubs for 4 years now and clearly I was in better shape than him. Went on the elliptical for 30 minutes & there was something wrong with the heart rate reading, kept jumping from 105 to 199, no gradual increase.
I had no idea if I was working out in the Cardio zone or the Fat Burn zone. The gym itself is not spacious with equipments so close to each other. Did some weights later and it was ok, no complaints. Looked around for my trainer for help with one of the machines and saw our friend running and playing catching games with another colleague.
Felt like I was in my apartment gym with boys running around, rather than a professional fitness club that deserved a 14k annual membership. So much for professional trainers !!! Didnt bother to go back after the first impression. For people looking to join any fitness club, ask for a free trial and then decide for yourself. Fitness one in Brookfields is a thumbs down from me....
