I think the movie was pretty much watchable. I guess the biggest mistake the director/producer/marketers of the movie did were to mention that it was a movie based on Great Expectations thus garnering’great expectations’ from the viewers, that has lead to reviewers and viewers overpraising scenes and acting abilities.
I’d suggest that if you are a movie lover or enjoy romantic movies that aren’t simply frivolous dancing and love making, the movie does deserve a watch. The cinematography is great and the actors have done a decent job.
