The first name that comes to my mind when I think of Five Best Actresses of Hindi Movies...is the current diva...but not first in acting grades in comparison to other actresses I will enumerate, but no doubt she is just great...She is none other than AISHWARYA RAI.She has done some stupid films in between wasting her talent, even though she tried hard to fill the gaps, but still some of her memorable movies are HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM, DEVDAS, BRIDE AND PREJUDICE, ALBELA , JOSH , KUCH NA KAHO , SHABD and TAAL.What makes her a great actress is drowning herself completely in the role and so beautifully.
I think the all time greatest actress is one who is no more, dying tragically at the young age of 31, she is the late SMITA PATIL.No one can parallel her unique talent, whether it was NAMAKHALAL , hard core commercial movie for which she took no money or the art movie ARTH, she was the best.Some of her memorable movies are SHAKTI, WARIS, AAKHIR KYON, BHUMIKA, and MIRCH MASALA.
The third one is obviously Mrs Bachchan, formerly known as JAYA BHADURI.Who can forget her spontaneity and naughtiness in MILI, GUDDI and ABHIMAAN.She also did great job in SHOLAY, JANJEER, ANAMIKA , SILSILA, PARICHAY , PIYA KA GHAR, KOSHISH, BAWARCHI, KORA KAGAZ and EK NAZAR (During filming of this movie, Amitabh Bachchan claims he tried every means to woo her:)
Fourth one is also predictable, the eternal Ms Bhanurekha or just REKHA.She is as mysterious as her acting prowess is...She has excelled in every role she was given.Her notable films are much famed UMRAO JAAN, SILSILA, KHOOBSURAT, IZAZAT, BASERA and ZUBEIDA.
Last, but not the least is not seen these days, I don’t know why, she is TABU.She has not been given good roles, but whatever she had, she made the most of it.One of the greatest films she did excellently was MAQBOOL.Who can forget the last scene of CHANDNI BAR when she loses everything...her body of work which is good is FILHAAL, ASTITVA and CHACHI 420.
Some other actresses I like are madhubala, vidya balan, waheeda rehmaan and rani mukherji.
