Clothes Maketh a Man and also a woman! So this is a rather difficult topic to write about. My family is in the garment buisness and I have tried many and many brands of garments and it is a real difficult task to pick my top 5 fave brands. Well I will give it a shot though. So here I start my list in no particular order.
1) Oxemberg - This is the readymade division of the Siyaram group of companies.They mainly deal with formal and semi-formal range of garments. They have probably the largest range of shirts in the indian Market and as we are one of the distributors, I have been able to wear quite a few of them. in Shirts, you get various kinds of fabric, but my fave is the’Cotton Rich’ brand which is perfect in summer.in Trousers, you get both pleated and non-pleated kind, which are really heaven to be in. Great clothes from a Great brand!
2) Camel - it is actually a German or a US brand and it has been brought to india by Gokuldas exports and are available in Wear-houses and Camel Shop spread all over the country. This brand mainly concentrates on semi-formal and casual wear. The best garment in this brand are the cargos. I can safely say that no brand in india has the many varieties of cargos as Camel. The Cotton shirts are rather trendy and comfortable to wear. You also get denims, shirts, wallets, shoes, handkerchiefs and Tees under the same brand. A must have in your wardrobe.
3) Dockers and Levis - Dockers is the name synomynous with khakis. The cargo range in dockers is excellent and there are various varieties in the cargo range and new ones keep coming now and then. The shirts are also good but not as good as the khakis. Levis is the name synomynous with jeans which were the symbol of youth not so long back. But nevertheless I don’t look much further than levis for jeans. My personal fave is the 501 and 505 style in jeans.
4) Live in - ’So comfortable you can live in them’! That’s the tag line of this brand and it sure lives up to it! They have a complete range of casual wear. Their Jeans stud fit is so perfect for slim people like me. Their live in lites which is the range of casual cotton pants and cargoes are rather innovative with some unique fashions. They have been a part of my wardrobe since the day they were launched. Excellent Value for Money!
5) Well this is the place reserved for the nameless brand which you get by searching places like fashion street in Mumbai. The t-shirt with the cool logo or the line. Those cool track pants or the cooler jacket. The sexy top or the superb skirt. This is a thing which everyone should have in their wardrobe!
Also you should have some of the Reebok, Nike, Adidas and Tommy hi-flier gear in your wardrobe. They don’t essentially come under a perfect clothing brand in india at least! But they are a must have!
