Is love supposed to last throughout all time, or is it like trains changing at random stops. If I loved her, how could I leave her? If I felt that way then, how come I don’t feel anything now?

On a cold winter night with a bourbon by my side, I pick up those broken pieces, wondering if they were just inflated wishes. As I look through the film of haze, I think to myself, is it the haze or my damp peepers. As the bourbon hugged my lips, the peepers peek at the fourth, the lost accord. Is it the inflated wishes or am I high with bourbon. Besides my broken pieces lay those unzipped discs. Despite my stoned disorientation, I wished for the one that read ’Nostalgia - Im a Loser’.
This review took a long time to come. Didn’t want this to look like a Michael Bolton or Elton John’s ballad list. Not that I don’t like ballads, its Bolton and Elton that I can’t stand. Ok. this is how it goes.not crucially in any order.
1. Don’t Let me Down - The Beatles(1973): These Liverpool lads were incredible. I grew up listening to them and as a kid I loved the’Yellow Submarine’. Don’t Let Me Down was written and sung by John Lennon for his lady love Yoko Ono. The song pronounces the fear of losing his love. A very simple yet a very intriguing love song.
Strangers in the Night - Frank Sinatra(1966): ’Every woman wanted to have him, every man wanted to be him’. Famously known as the ’Old Blue Eyes’, Frank Sinatra was considered to be a phenomena during his times. A perfect slow-dance number, Strangers in the Night is one of those numbers which will make you fall in love all over again.
Feels So Right - Alabama(1990): Its time for some country music. This group called Alabama from Alabama made it big in US in the 80’s. They have some great numbers to their credit such as Love In The First Degree and My Home’s In Alabama. Feels So Right a feel good romantic number. Suggest this song to be played if u wanna spend a lovely evening with your lass/lad. Will get your moments going for sure.
How Deep Is Your Love - Beegees(1977): Needless to say, I am a big fan of the BeeGees. This song is written by Barry/Robin/Maurice Gibb and led by Barry Gibb. It featured in the Saturday Night Fever album. This song is about examination of personalities. Here, love is the foundation, its an anchor.
Don’t You Love Her Madly - The Doors(1971): Two things come to my mind when I talk about Doors, Jim Morrison and Johnny Depp. This awesome acid-rock group made it real big in the 60’s until the untimely death of Jim Morrison. This song featured in the album LA Woman, which was the last album recorded by Doors before Jim Morrison’s death. This number bridges the psychedelic sound of the 60’s with the current century.
Can’t Help Falling In Love - Elvis(1961): This song originally featured in the movie Blue Hawaii, written by George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti, & Luigi Creatore. Couldn’t think of a better Elvis number to feature in this list. A very popular wedding number and surely a tear-jerker. I don’t care much about the later cover versions by UB40 and Corey Hart.
To Be With You - Mr Big(1991): Featured in the album’Lean Into It’. The number talks about a broken heart. Its about comforting a girl to get over the past and to start a new day.
Ooh Baby, Baby - Smokey Robinson and The Miracles(1965): Alright, we go back to the 60’s R&B scene. Smokey Robinson who once was stated as the ’the best living song writer in America’ by Bob Dylan, lived upto his reputation. This song has got a generic blanket to it, but surely stands out of the other Smokey’s numbers. A 50’s style ballad with a pinch of R&B added to it, Ooh Baby Baby rocks.
Game of Love - Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders(1965): This Manchester born laddie made it big in the international charts with’Game of Love’. I love the words. It goes like. ’The purpose of a man is to love a woman, And the purpose of a woman is to love a man, So come on baby let’s start today, come on baby let’s play, The game of love, love, la la la la la love’. Thats a very British perception of love and existence.LOL.
Drive - The Cars(1984): Recently a cover version featured in the Adam Sandler flick 50 First Dates. The song has some mesmerizing https://lyrics. Catch Line: * Who’s gonna pick you up, When You fall? Who’s gonna hang it up, When you call?. Who’s gonna drive you home, tonight?*. Drive Rocks.
