Following are the most hillarious movies I had ever seen in my life. All are equally good.
*Chupke Chupke(1975)
Director: Hrishikesh Mukherjee
Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bhaduri, Om Prakash, Asrani
Music: S.D. Burman*
Ahmitabh Bacchan and Dharmaendra were best friends and they both were Professors. Ahmitabh used to teach English Literature while Dharmendra used to teach Botany. Once during science tour, Dharmendra falls in love with Sharmila Tagore who was a student of Botany. They get married and then actual story starts. Sharmila Tagore had Brother-in-law Om Prakash and had very high impression about him. So to prove Dharmendra is equally good, he goes to Om Prakash place as a driver. The dialogues between Om Prakash and Dharmendra is mind blowing. Also at the end, Amitabh comes there and acts as if he is husband of Sharmila Tagore. He falls in love with Asrani’s sister, Jaya Bhaduri who considers him as husband of Sharmila Tagore. With all mix match going around, movie turns out to be one of the best comedy movies ever made in Bollywood.
Best song of the movie: Saa Re Gaa Maa, Maa Saa Re Gaa
*Golmal (1979)Director: Hrishikesh Mukherjee
Cast: Amol Palekar, Utpal Dutt, Dina Pathak, Bindiya Goswami,
Music: R.D. Burman*
Ram Prasad (Amol Palekar) gets a job after pretending to be an orthodox, religious and committed to work sort of person. His boss (Utpal dutt) who himself has similar nature started liking him and always used to praise his work and ethics. Once when Ram goes out to watch a hockey match with his friends, his boss sees him and gets really mad. Next day when his boss asks for the explanation, he says that was his spoilt twin brother Lakshman Prasad (Lucky) to save his job. Thus he started playing two roles one as Ram and other Lucky. Utpal Dutt’s daughter Bindiya Goswami and Lucky started liking each other while Utpal Dutt wanted her to marry Ram. Movie gets really hilarious when to cover one thing, they have to come up with few others and it continues. Music is really good and movie is very well directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
Best song of the movie: Aane Vaalaa Pal, Jaane Vaalaa Hai
*Satte Pe Satta (1981)
Director: Raj Sippy
Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor and many more
Music: R. D. Burman*
This is indian version of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. In this movie Amitabh and his 6 younger brothers were staying in a farm house. The way they were staying and the way it has been shown is hilarious. Nobody used to take bath or use to work. Amitabh was smartest among all and he used to run the business by selling what they used to grow in his farm. He then falls in love with Hema Malini and she then straighten out things at the farm and take care of all the mess that these brothers has created. One day, they all goes for the picnic where they meet six ladies and each fell in love with one brother. It is like love at first sight. Then there was a twist in the movie, when there was another Amitabh who was sent by Amjad Khan to kill her nephew who is a friend of those 6 ladies and she is a handicap. Bad Amitabh falls in love with her and also, realizes what he is doing is wrong. Also, he tells the truth to 6 brothers and then there is little fight between good and bad as usual. And finally good WINS. Music is very melodious and its very well directed by Raj Sippy.
Best song of the movie: Pyaar Hamen Kis Mod Pe Le Aayaa
*Andaz Apna Apna (1993)
Director: Raj Kumar Santoshi
Cast: Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karishma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, T. Talsania, Shakti Kapoor
Music:Tushar Bhatia*
This is a story about two poor, uneduacated guys (Aamir Khan and Salman Khan) who plans to marry rich girl (Raveena Tandon) who is coming from abroad along with her friend Karishma Kapoor. There is hardly anything in this movie that makes sense and for me to write it down over here except to say they way it has been made is really really good. Hats of to Raj Kumar Santoshi who has done excellent job in directing the movie. Also roles of Paresh Rawal (double role) are good. It gets really confused when it turns out rich girl is actually Karishma Kapoor and not Raveena. The fight scene at the end of the movie is just great. Have never seen such good comedy fight in any other movies. In short I can say, its really really good movie and one must watch it.
Best song of the movie: Dil Karta Hai, Tere Pass Aavoo
*Judwaa (1997)
Director: David Dhavan
Cast: Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Karishma Kapoor, Rambha, Shakti Kapoor, Kadar Khan
Music: Anu Malik*
In this movie, Salman Khan plays double role. Twin brothers gets separated on the day of their birth. One goes abroad with his family while other grows up in Bombay and becomes Gundaa. This gundaa Salman falls in love with Karishma who is a daughter of Kadar Khan (a miser) while American Salman falls in love with Rambha. Story gets really funny when Salman Khan comes to India for a stage show and that where all confusion starts. Songs are really funny and Anu Malik has given really good music that suits the movie. Karishma’s performance is also really good while Rambha had hardly any role in the movie. She is mostly seen in dance numbers. The way David Dhawan has directed the movie is really good and he deserves all the credit. Story wise, its nothing but confusion created all across and at all levels which makes it really funny.
Best song of the movie: Tan Tana Tan, Tan Tan Tara, Chalti Hai Kya Nou Se Barah
Other good comedy movies that reqires credit are Janne Bhi Do Yarron, Padosan, Namakhalal, Yes Boss to name the few.
Hope you will enjoy this.
