As is the case with any decade, 1990s showcased a lot of movies, few originals and a lot of repeats. There are time(occasions) in an era, when a Movie seems like an Epic(All time great). But to make a movie a Great Movie, it should be loved and liked in any given time(occasion). A lot of time have passed since these movies were viewed or even talked about, but these movies still remains etched in our memory making it The Champions.
Silence Of The Lambs - Action/Thriller
King among Thrillers. Antony Hopkins gives as Outstanding Performance. Released in 1991, it is still quite famous among cine-goers. Must have, classic. Sangarsh(dubbed version, in Hindi) was just the ghost of the Original.
The Mask - Comedy
A lot of you critics may disagree to this movie, but it was one of the very few comedies ever made that can be viewed by all ages. Especially liked by kids. The special effects are amazing, along with excellent Screenplay and Dialogues. Made Jim Carry a household name.
Forrest Gump - Drama
Tom Hanks plays the role of mentally retarded. Who have just two things in his life, his dreams and lot of heart. With all the luck he have, he becomes successful in whichever business he does. But never finds his love. The journey is all about finding his love. When he finds her, he losses her to death. Performance by Tom Hanks is incomparable.
American Beauty - Fantasy
Movie that was class apart. Original and Class script. Unpredictable till the End. Kevin Spacey in the role of the Lifetime. The story revolves around Kevin Spacey as an Middle-Age man, going through unusual family crisis and about leaving his fantasies. Great Movie and a Splendid Direction by Sam Mendes. A movie so close to reality but still all about Fantasy.
Schindlers List - True Story
Life is stranger than Fiction, how true. One of the very few movies that got tears in my eyes. The ironic part is, for the love of the movie, I cannot watch it with my parents and friends, because of the true description of the torture done upon the Jews(male/female). If ever given a choice to choose the best movie ever, Schindlers List will the top the list.
The choices are all mine and may not be liked by a lot of you, but please do comment what I missed.
