Hello!This is my 2nd review here.Guess I have made a decent start to my review writing.Well im here to write about the 5 best innings of the master.He has over 13, 000 runs with 38 centuries and more than 55 half centuries.Im gonna pick my favourites from his knocks.
1. 143 vs australia at sharjah
We have a proverb called god proposes and man disposes.Well in this match, the aussies proposed and our master disposed.This knock is my all time favourite one.India were in a pressure to qualify for the finals.I remember, india had to score 260 odd runs in 46.2 overs to qualify for the finals. Ganguly departed early.But sachin went on a rampage with the company of mongia, who was promoted up the order.Sachin smashed 7 sixes in that match and became kasprowicz’s worst nightmare.Sachin safely took us past the qualifying mark.But could prevent the umpire’s erratic decision to give him out lbwto a ball clearly missing off stump and india losing.He once again proved to the world, why he’ called the little master.
2. 134 vs australia at sharjah
This was vintage tendulkar, doing what he’s best at.It was his 24th birthday.He treated his fans and as well as the indian team and indian supporters with a gritty century and the coca cola trophy.He took it to the bowlers and made sure none of them settled.This was the match, where he wud stroke some classic sixes, one of them being of shane warne who came around the wickets to tame the lion on rampage.But the master would simply step out and hit a smashing six over long off.It was an innings of courage and valour.
3. 42 vs pakistan at dhaka
This innings was a gem.Both pakistan and india would always provide great entertainment when ever they meet.The matches wouldnt be one sided contests.This match saw one of the greatest run chases ever by india.Set a target of 316, the indian opening pair of sachin and sourav made a rousing start.Sachin was the one who gave india a flier.He set the tempo and sourav followed him soon.He smashed azhar mahmood for 4 fours in a single over.After that, saqlain came on round the wickets, hoping to turn things around.But sachin refused to go on the defensive, and greeted saqlain with a massive straight six.Though sachin fell for 42, the start he gave was enough to earn a win for india and as well as the trophy.
4. 113 vs zimbabwe at benoni
This was a rollicking knock from the champ.India was in a similar situation, requiring the winnings runs at a higher run rate.India started off with a flying start.Sachin was in no mood to relax as he drove, cut, pulled and smashed the bowlers all over the park.He scored that majestic six of brandes dancing down the track and hitting the ball over the sight screen.His knock paved the way for an indian win and a place in the final.
5. 98 vs pakistan at centurion
This was a fantastic innings from sachin.Having a target of 273 to achieve, sachin and sehwag gave a flier and pakistan were soon on the back foot.india was scoring at 10/over.Sachin treated shoaib akhtar the treatment that no body would’ve dared to.He plundered 18 off akhtar’s 1st over which contained 2 boundaries and a magnificent effortless 6 over third man.Though sachin was dropped on 8, he went on to make 98, missing a century yet again in the series.Cramps brought him down and a bouncer from akhtar sealed his chances of scoring a century.It was a brave effort from a man who hardly knows the meaning of the word, GIVE UP.
This is my compilation of his 5 best innings.Almost all his innings were great ones.These 5 are my favourites.There are a lot of other innings to mention, but the limit was reduced to just 5.so I would request for a topic named, sachin’s 10 best 100’s.
