Hello!This is my 1st review at mouthshut.Im extremely thrilled to write abt the maestro’s 5 best test innings.Well sachin has scored 35 centuries, out of which most of them are scintillating ones.Im gonna pick 5 of his best innings and rate them.I would write about the best ones rather than the big ones.So here we go.
.1.136 vs pakistan at chennai
This was my all time favourite innings of his.Even though we lost the match, his knock remains in our memory.It was a gem of an innings.it was on the 4th day of the match, where india needed 254 odd runs to win the match.Dravid was the 1st one to go in the morning being bowled by akram.Sachin played gem of an innings and brought india closer to win.He was battling 2 things at the same time, back pain and pakistan.When his innings progressed, his back pain got better of him and made him play a lose shot which holed out to akram.He cried all day and wasnt even willing to collect the MOM award as he thought he had lost the opportunity to scamper india home.
2.169 vs south africa at jo’burg
This was another classic knock by sachin.We lost this match too.India was reeling at 57/5 when he joined hands with azhar.They both toiled hard against the likes of pollock, donald, klusener and mcmillan.the openers and the top order failed yet again, but sachin was there to the rescue yet again.He smashed the bowlers all over the park and scored a brilliant 100.It took a great catch by adam bacher to bring an end to his spectacular innings.
3.55 vs australia at mumbai
This was the innings of a lifetime.india had already lost the series, but were looking god in this match.India and australia, both scored low totals in their 1st innings and india had to score a respectable total to win the match.The pitch was wearing out fast and turning viciously.With the likes of mcgrath, gillespie and kasprowicz, sachin battled it out there with the help of laxman and took india to a decent and defendable total.He scored 55 valuable runs which paved the path for india’s victory in that match.
4.114 vs australia at perth
This was a typical knock from the master.He was very young then.He was in his teens when he had to face few of the fiercest bowlers in the world.He was facing the aussies at perth, which is similar to fighting a lion in its den.India were off to a shaky start yet again in the series.The aussie bowlers kept the batsman wondering and at one stage india were less than 100 with half the side back in the pavillion.Then came sachin and scripted a remarkable century.He made the aussie bowlers plan a strategy to get him, but all were in vain.he made the batsman at the other end stay and took india to a commendable total.He was the youngest to score a ton in australia against the aussies.The sad thing here happens to be that india lost this match too.
5.241* vs australia at sydney
This is one of his best knocks.He was under pressure after he failed convert the good starts he had into good scores.he found his touch in this match and scored a chanceless 241.An amazing fact about this innings is that he was once dropped in the same one or the previous attempting a rash shot out side the off stump.He never tried the shot again during his 241, even though the bowlers kept bowling outside the off stump.He scored 60 in the 2nd innings and remained unbeaten throughout the test.I rate this as one of his vintage knocks
Well these r the 5 innings that I have cherished watching.Kindly forgive me if it has any mistakes, coz this is my 1st review on MS.
