I have been thinking about it for some days now… writing a review on something other than Football or sports… and I came across this topic. 5 best inspiratonal songs. **I thought why not! I listen to songs all the time. even when I am at work. So what’s the big deal about writing about 5 songs that I really liked… The big deal was I have never written about songs, I can talk about them, but WRITING(Oh! please help me GOD). It took me four and a half hours to write about 5 songs…
so here it is. my baby steps into the world of non-sports reviews.
Listed below are 5 of my favourite inspirational songs. Well I haven’t included the names of the singers, music composers etc. because that is really out of my league.
5. Eye of the Tiger by survivor from the movie Rocky III
Rocky starts living the good life, resting on his laurels, and stays away from training. On the other hand his rival(Mr.T) trains hard, with the sole objective of beating Rocky and becoming the boxing champ. Rocky’s trainer, tries to bring him back to the gym, back to training. He wants Rocky to get his hunger back.
This song is not just about training hard, winning a boxing match, but it can be applied to all aspects of life. Its about tackling whatever challenges life throws at you and emerging the winner. I hummed the following lines from the song whenever I heard the starter say “On your mark….”
It’s the eye of the tiger, it’s the thrill of the fight
Risin’ up to the challenge of our rival
4. We are the champions by Queen
The song needs no describing. The best sports anthem of all time. I remember singing this song(in a rather rough n off key voice) after all our school matches(only if we had won…).
We are the champions my friend
And we’ll keep on fighting to the end
Cause we are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
Cause we are the champions
Of the world
Yes, We are the Champions and we will always be… cos we are the champions. no one can beat us!
3. Chale chalo from the movie Lagaan
Lagaan is the story about a bunch of inspired villagers who dared to taken on the might of the evil British officer who challenged them to a cricket match.
This is my favourite song from the movie. This song rocks. Its about fighting against all odds and giving it back to the one who dares to challenge you. Truly inspirational lyrics
Koi hum se jeet na paye…. Chale chalo, chale chalo
Mit jaye joh takraye… chale chalo
2.Ruk jaana nahi –(don’t know the name of the movie:-( … singer: Kishore Kumar)
Ruk jaana nahi… tu kahi haar ke…
Don’t ever give up. There are times in life when you get kicked in your teeth, but whatever happens do not give up. When you trip and fall on your face just pick yourself up and carry on. You will overcome all the obstacles on the way only if you do not stop. Don’t quit just because there are road blocks.
1. Lakshya – title song from the movie Lakshya.
The only song from the movie Lakshya which I liked. This song the the ultimate kick @** song of all time… and extremely addictive too! Yes, addictive… Just listen to this song once and you will know what I am talking about. Dare to dream, dare to follow the dream. Whatever it takes, just focus on the goal you have set for yourself and just go out and achieve it. Simply mindblowing.
himmat se joh. koi chale… dharti hile kadmo tale
kya dooria… kya faasle.manzil lage aake gale…
himmat se joh. koi chale… dharti hile kadmo tale
tu chal yuhi ab subah shaam, rukna zukna nahi tera kaam…
paye ga joh lakshya hai tera… Lakshya ko har haal mei paana hai
The message is clear. If you want something badly, and are willing to work hard, theres nothing that will stop you.
Some other songs that could have been included are,
Allah ke bande from Waisa bhi hota hai
We will rock you by Queen
*(Every one is free to….) Suncreen by Baz Luhrman.
The theme from Chariots of Fire ,
aaah the list is endless. I could go on and on and on!
