This country(USA)throws us into loneliness every now and then. We can reset our dirty collar just to boost off our glamour that we are in thisLand of Oppurtunity but most times it seems like we are in aLand of Inexpression.its not inexpression but inability of expression to ur dear ones back home. Those days were wonderful days has become the breath slogan for these lives.:)hahah Well I knew from a friend about an Indian radio station. It is supposed to be THE Radio Station of the Asian community, called ASIAN MEDIA WORLDWIDE, :)well it teaches me new Geography.Asia has just two countries, India and Pakisthan.Did u know that?.Haaahaa.If not its time to take your geography lesson again.tingtong:).
Yeah this station claims to be Asian.but all it plays is Indian music with a Pakisthani owner, who often yaps yaps yaps as ifStrictly Nonsense Please banner is starring at him:). Ofcourse I enjoy the Indian music he adds for a compensation after every 20mins of senseless promotions and most unauthentic news/weather reports.Yeah it still helps me when Iam VERY GLOOMY, only to become more gloomy but I guess itis ok. Anyways, I depend on NPR for any authentic info. But that morning NPR was playing Opera which did not strike my cord.but itched me to change the station. I tuned to 950AM, ha vahee apna ASIAN radio station and to my surprise heard something that sounded like the language so dear to me.the language I dream in, and I talk to my dear ones-Telugu. Ofcourse I increased the volume and struggled with the antenna for a while to get it clear.I dont want to tell about its coverarge.u almost need to be in the station to hear clearly.ha I tuned in and for a surprise I let that Telugu Program start my Mothers Day.Amazing!Infact each and every song was chosen with so much thought and sure did strike my chord and with dialogue to add to my nostalgia. Well, Iam still not an AMERICAN I guess, to call in and sayHAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM. But you bet this program turned me to tears and watched me as I called my MOM:)and wished her.It was commendable. From then I start my sunday with this programPadamati Sand(h)ya Raagam hosted by Lakshmi garu. Its themed with a section on Telugu Literature.with few/no annoying loud ads.
Yeah at 8am-9am on Sunday morning on 950AM.
I hope this is just a way to thank her and you guys too.
