Sorry for the weird title?lekin k.k.kucch aur mujhe sooj hi nahi raha tha..
Introduction:
Abhijeet was born in a middle-class Bengali family from Kanpur. His parents were against his singing but Abhijeet went against his parent?s wishes to become a singer.
He came to Mumbai in 1981 to study Chartered Accountancy. But owing to his fascination for singing and music he decided to pursue a career in playback singing.
Despite being gifted with a melodious voice, he had to struggle for a very long time. He returned to Kanpur but each time was drawn to the fascination of Mumbai with a dream to be fulfilled. He was packing his bags after a long struggle in Bombay when he received a call from R.D. Burman to sing for Dev Anands son?s debut film. Abhijeet also got to sing with Kishore Kumar, his idol, in the same film.
It all happened to Abhijeet as he received a new lease of life when music director Ravindra Jain, gave him an offer to live with him. It was during his stay with Ravindra that Abhijeets proximity to Bollywood grew in a phased and gradual manner.
He began visiting R.D. Burman?s residence and started getting frequent opportunities to sing for stage shows. Abhijeet got opportunities to sing as a chorus singer for music directors Rajesh Roshan and Jagjit Singh.
It was R.D. Burman who gave him his first break as a playback singer in Dev Anand?s Anand Aur Anand. But the film flopped and he was struggling to find work again.
In the 1990s the songs sung by Abhijeet of Baaghi became hits and finally he was noticed. He launched two pop-albums, Main Deewana Hoon and Tapori No.1. But both albums flopped. Then he launched Aashiqui and recently Tere Bina which has become a hit.
He won the Filmfare award for the best singer for his song ?Chand taare? in Yes Boss.
My favorite Five:
1.Aur Kya-Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani-Jatin-Lalit
A soft romantic number and Abhijeet and Alkaji sing their heart out. The best part of the song is when both the singers sing Aur Kya with the change in music. Jatin-Lalit?s music well for romantic numbers is got to be good so there is no question about it. The song is picturised well too on SRK and Juhi.
2.Pyar Humko Hone Laga-Tum-Bin-Nikhil-Vinay
A lot of you might not have heard this song but this one is a great number. A fast number where Abhijeet?s voice blends with the music perfectly. I don?t think any other singer would have sung this song as well as he did. And the music is also great. All in all a good song to hear. If u haven?t heard do hear it.
3.Tum Dilki Dhadkan mein-Dhadkan-Nadeem-Shravan
Initially I did not like this song when I heard it first time. But when I heard the full song it is then I started liking this song. Another romantic number with typical Nadeem-Sharavan music attached to it. Alka and Abhijeet do a great job singing this song and making it pleasing to hear.
4.Roshni Se-AsokaAnnu Malik
The best of Abhijeet in my opinion. Awesome song from Annu Malik (Is this inspired too? Or its original??). A slow romantic-sad song very soulful to hear. Just hear how Abhijeet starts singing this song..Roshni se?and u will come to know what feeling is attached to this song. Best time is to play when on a drive at nites.
5.Ae Nasneen Suno Na-Dil Hi Dil Mein-A.R.Rahman
I don?t have this song and so I cant tell much about this one. But this song is a rare combination of A.R.Rahman and Abhijeet. I think Abhijeet has done only a couple of songs with Rahman. This one is from a flop movie Dil Hi Dil Mein. It?s a romantic song (the part of singing where Abhijeet sings at his best) with good music and good https://lyrics. But since the song is good I had to include it in my list.
As usual I have come to the end of the list. I haven?t included his songs from Yes Boss becoz they have already been selected by MSians in their list so there is no point in repeating the choices.
At last Do RRC?
