PancH WaS A TougH TasK....

So I am now once again going back to my music selections that are choosing best songs of singers. Now there is already a rvu written under this title by Ektaa and there isn’t much left out by her in the rvu. She has given the complete biography of KK so I am not left with anything to write about his life except for my choices which I write soon.

KK is now an established singer in Bollywood. He is one of the new breed of singers that have made it big into Bollywood including Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Shreya Ghosal etc. Although KK hasn’t really yet reached at the top spot of his career but indeed he has sung some melodious numbers. His voice is different doesn’t really resemble any of the past famous singers and that is why he has become famous. Started with pop albums---Pal being his debut album, before he made his debut in Bollywood. In my opinion the turning point in his singing career was when he sang Tadap Tadap ke from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam which instantly made him famous. Since then there has been no looking back and we hear KK every now and then.

So here are my choices of top 5 of KK:

1.Tadap Tadap ke--Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam--Ismail Darbar

As I said earlier this is one song which will stay forever as one of KK’s best. An awesome sad song with great lyrics and some real good music. Starts of with KK singing in a high note bejaan dil ko…then Ismail has his instruments playing with background chorus giving great support. Check out the violin in the beginning. For me the lyrics and KK’s voice are the USP of this song.

tadap tadap ke is dil se aah nikalti rahi,

mujhko saja di pyar ki,

aisa kya gunaah kiya,

to lut gaye haan lut gaye,

to lut gaye hum teri mohabbat mein

2.Mene Dil Se Kaha--Rog--M.M.Kreem

A song from a recent movie which bombed at the box-office. But the music by M.M.Kreem is really great as usual. We heard M.M.Kreem and K.K. team up for Jism and creating a gem called Awaarapan Banjarapan, this time also another gem is created. Although this time the music is different but the feeling and theme remains the same. A slow and beautifully crafted song. Begins with soft guitar strings and then KK takes over and sings his best. This time he sings in a heavy and low voice unlike Tadap Tadap ke.

Mene dil se kaha dhund laana khushi

Na samaj na ya gam, to ye gam hi sahi,

Bechara kahaan jaanta hai,

Khalish hai ye kya khala hai,

Sheher bhar ki khushi se ye dard mera bhala hai..

3.Tu Aashiqui Hai--Jhankaar Beats--Vishal-Shekhar

A great song from a great under-rated movie. This is a great romantic number by K.K. Starts of with KK singing Tu hai Aasma mein…and then the music begins. The music by Vishal, Shekhar is really awesome. A must hear and a must dedication to your beloved. I am sure he/she would love this song. I have always believed that singers, when sing sad songs have their real feelings flowing in their voice but this particular song of KK I have chosen stands out as a true romantic number in K.K’s collection and hence it is in my list.

Pyar mein hi dhoondta hoon,

pyarse hi pujta hoon tujhe,

tera chehra roshni hai,

tu mohabbat tu aashiqui hai,

tu hai aasma mein teri ye zameen hai,

tu jo hai to sab kuch hai na koi kami hai..

4.Bardaast--Humraaz--Himesh Reshammiya

A peppy fast number is what I would call it. Might not be liked by many but for those who like fast music this is a good one. I heard probably for the first time K.K. singing a fast number and I must say due to his versatility he did sing this song very well. The song is composed by Himesh Reshammiya who, I think for the first time made K.K sing and had a good choice.

5.Pal--Pal--Leslie Lewis

I had thought I wouldn’t include songs from his pop-albums since the selections of his filmi songs was also a tough ask. But then I couldn’t stop myself including this song. Probably the best romantic number K.K has ever sung or will sing in future. An extremely slow track, the best time of which is to listen at night on a long drive. The music by Leslie Lewis mainly comprises of guitar. In the middle the song goes on a high note as with most slow English songs. Just hear how K.K changes his tone from low to high as the music changes. An awesome compilation.

pal ye hai pyar ke pal,

chal aa mere sang chal,

chal, soche kya chotti si hai ye zindagi,

kal mil jaaye to hogi khush naseebi..

Many songs I have left out but I will mention them here:

One if Awaarapan Banjaarapan from Jism, next song is Sach Keh raha hai from RHTDM, the other one and probably which should have been much famous is Jeena kya jeevan se haar ke from Om Jai Jagdish. Then a fast number Koi Kahe from Dil Chahta Hai are also must hear.

Lastly wishing KK best of luck for his future. Keep singing and let us hear the best always.
