Hello people. I was reading a few things on this topic of Sadhana Sargam and her not getting due recognition. My stance is different. I will deviate from the topic a little bit and then come back to Sadhana Sargam. These days people are in a hurry to get money and fame, as soon as possible. The likings of people have changed and will change. My sincere opinion is that people should understand whats good music and whats mediocre. Once we start recognizing this, then things will be different. Today, people like himesh reshammiya claim that he is a better singer than Sonu Nigam. My say is, let him say anything, but we should know what is good and what is not.
I am not opposing change. Its there to happen, but my concern is that whoever is making or producing music, at some point, (hope that happens soon) has to look back into what they are doing. One of the reviews wrote Alka Yagnik in the same level as Lata, and Asha. My say is, Alka Yakgnik is an OK singer. Just because her voice suits to many girls in the so called bollywood, she got many songs. She is an avergae singer, with no great talent. or atleast, I did not see it reflect in any of her songs. In fact, I used to watch saregama lil champs regularly, and I was amazed and happy to see so many talented singers, especially this Abhrokanti. This guy is extremely talented, he has a good range, a great control on his voice, sang with passion, and most importantly, he had a strong base in classical music. Yet, Alka Yagnik used to constantly criticze him for’unwanted’ twists and turns in sur. My question is, tell alka yagnik to sing what Abhrokanti can, and I am sure she will fail. By the way, I dont even consider Bappi lahiri to be in the panel. Thas my view. I agree there should not be’unnecessary twists’, but look at his talent that he is able to fit in so mnay extra twists in a given rhythm. Unfortunately, he was out, due to public voting system. Both alka and abhijeet are average singers with good voice. I dont think they are even half as talented as this Abhrokanti.
Coming back to Sadhana Sargam, no doubt she is a great singer. But her voice does not fit the so called heroines of bollywood, and may be thaz y she did not get many songs. My hope is that we people start realizing whats good and whats not. Rest, leave it for fortune.
