Enthusiasm is the key!

Shaan is a singer I never really cared for being totallyswept away by Sonu Nigam. But when he came to Trinidadfor only the second time this year, he stole part of my heart. I didn’t go tohis concert but he sounded amazing. It was around the same time that Fanaa hadbeen released just about last two months because I remember hearing ChandSifarish. What made me change my mind about Shaan? Well, there were a number ofsongs. I had always loved Tune Mujhe Pehchana Nahi and Musu Musu Hati and thenhe came along with Chand Sifarish and My Dil Goes Mmm. Then there’s his albumTishnagi, well I fell instantly in love with his voice when I heard Take Me ToYour Heart. These are my favourite songs of Shaan and they are a bit abovefive.

Tune Mujhe Pehchana Nahi(Raju Chacha)

I have to admit the very first time I heard this song I fellin love with it. It was so slow, soothing and mesmerizing. Anytime I hear thissong, my heart seems to skip a beat and I feel so relaxed and happy. The songsslow beautiful and just makes me melt. To me Shaan couldn’t have done a betterjob and this is definitely his best song.

Ladki Kyun(Hum Tum)

Every time I hear this song I just burst out laughing. Maybebecause I’m listening to Saif and Rani quarreling throughout the song and itjust makes me laugh. I wonder if Shaan burst out laughing into the microphonewhile singing. I knew I most definitely would have. This is fun song to playand Shaan sings it brilliantly. He is definitely the perfect singer for thissong and if you’ve never heard Shaan sing before you may just as well mistakehim for Saif here because their voices are so similar.

Just Walk Into My Life(Main Aisa Hi Hoon)

Would you believe I absolutely hated this song when it came out?I couldn’t stand to hear this song and I always changed the station when I heardit. Why did I hate it? Well, this song came out around the same time as Shaan’sfirst visit to Trinidad just last year and I was soanti-Shaan at the moment, this song drove me crazy. But this year when I grewto admire Shaan, I fell for the song because Shaan sounds really sweet. He singswith passion and feelings and he sounds simply sweet. Too bad this moviecontained Ajay Devgan which was another reason for my hating this song as I detestAjay Devgan.

Chand Sifarish(Fanaa)

I owe it to Kajol because if she wasn’t it this movie I wouldn’thave liked the song as much as I do. The song sounds partly Classical, it hassome Classical beats in it and I simply love it and Shaan does an extremelywonderful job singing it. He sounds perfectly relaxed and enthusiastic aboutthis song specially. To me when Shaan is singing a song like this one you canhear or sense a smile on his face, like the way he sounds in Musu Musu Hati. Andhe is another singer with a nice smile!

My Dil Goes Mmm(Salaam Namaste)

Another song with Shaan sounding enthusiastic about hissinging. And another one where you can sense him laughing as he sings becausethis song has some funny pieces. This song brings out the true passions andfeelings of you-know-what and as it is a pretty long song people had to endure sevenminutes of Saif and Preity teasing each other and making out everywhere. Excellentsong by Shaan.

Main Aisa Kyun Hoon(Lakshya)

Yet another funny song by Shaan. I just couldn’t stoplaughing while watching a totally bewildered Hrithik on television wonderingwhat is going to become of his life. Wonderful video; Hrithik seems to be madeof jelly while dancing this song and after seeing his stunts in Krrish I cameto the conclusion that he is indeed made of jelly. Anyways, Shaan does a wonderfuljob singing this song and I loved it instantly.

Kuch To Hua Hai(Kal Ho Naa Ho)

This is the third Shaan song I have in my list where hesings for Saif. That has got to be saying something; that I think Shaan’s voiceis wonderfully suited to singing for Saif Ali Khan. This is a beautiful songwhere Shaan sounds absolutely sweet again and he is able to bring out thefeelings of Saif wonderfully. Cute song.

Take Me To Your Heart(Tishnagi)

This is a sad love song. A sad, love song depicting love andloneliness. Shaan sings beautifully and seems to be crying while singing thissong. I simply melt when I hear this song. It’s just sad and simply sweet.

Kal Se Koi(Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao)

I loved this song from the first time I heard it. It is alove song but a bit fast paced and I can sing it wonderfully. Shaan sounds sosweet and you can see he is perfectly into the song and he sings with passionand his voice is just purely sweet.

Ok, I didn’t intend my review to be so long but I found I just couldn’t resist. Now I just can’t believe I forgot these songs:

Kya Maine Socha(Rakht)

Oh my gosh! Shaan is singing English here and he sounds swweeettt and just makes me melt!

Shikdum(Dhoom) - he sounds sooo sweet

Tanha Dil, Bhoolja and Musu Musu - everyone knows these songs and everyone mentioned them and I can’t believe I forgot them but these are three songs I’ve always loved and will continue to love. There’s something in  these songs that I just can’t forget. These songs are highly contagious and infectious and I just can’t help singing along every time I hear these songs!

Ok now that is truly the end of this review.
