Dhoom Machale Dhoom Machale DHOOM!!!

Sunidhi Chauhan is the singer who inspired me to become a singer. No I haven’t met her nor have I spoken to her. But I am very lucky to have spoken to Alka Yagnik but not face to face. Anyhow, about two years back Sunidhi Chauhan came to Trinidad with KK. Tickets were cheap but to be honest I wasn’t interested in going, but listening to her songs, I could see that she had talent. And I knew I had talent as well. And it seemed to me I was hearing the challenge in her voice as I listened to Mehboob Merey, her voice was challenging me, ‘why don’t you become a singer too?’ Since the dream has not left me, has not weakened but has grown stronger everyday. I guess that is something I would have to thank her for if I ever meet her.

There’s only one word to describe Sunidhi Chauhan: dynamic, dynamic, dynamic! She seems to be a dynamite on stage; listening to her songs would tell you that. I’ve chosen some her songs here and none of them are slow, romantic songs. All of them are fast, high-powered tracks to get you on you toes. Here they are.

Mehboob Merey(Fiza)

This is one of her most powerful and most loved songs. Listening to this song, you can only wonder in astonishment, ‘how does she do it? How can she sing like that?’ that exactly was my first impression when I heard this song. And what is even more amazing is that she sings the song with total ease and relaxation. No signs of strain anywhere. I particularly like the way she sings ‘mujhe mast mast, mujhe mast mast.’ excellent delivery.

Kaisi Paheli Zindagani(Parineeta)

Ok well maybe not all my tracks are high-powered. But this is definitely not a mushy love song either. Sunidhi Chauhan takes us to Maulin Rouge. Again she sounds relaxed, relaxed and she adds a sexy, seductive note to her voice. Wait, isn’t that supposed to be Maulin Rouge. Anyways, wonderful song.

Dhoom Machale(Dhoom)

Apart from Mehboob Merey, this song could very well be Sunidhi’s best. Dhoom Machale is an excellent definition of the kind of songs Sunidhi Chauhan sings mostly. This song is most high-powered and would definitely wake you up when you don’t want to fall asleep. Sunidhi sounds very much enthusiastic here and puts her everything into the song to deliver yet another superb smash hit!

Sajna Ve Sajna & Bhagere Mann(Chameli)

If you listen to these songs one after the other you’d be just as amazed as I am. Actually, these were the first songs I’d heard from Sunidhi Chauhan, then I began to hear the rest. I was amazed when I heard these two songs because she sounds so different. In Bhagere Mann she sounds sweet and very girlish; in Sajna Ve Sajna, her voice is deeper and more powerful. She sounds a bit like Richa Sharma but there’s something in her voice that tells you it’s Sunidhi; only Sunidhi could deliver a song like that.

Aisa Jadoo(Khakee)

I can barely write anything about this song because right now all I’m hearing is Sunidhi’s voice singing ‘aisa jadoo dala re…’ but if I had to describe this song I would say: infectious. Just simply infectious. This is the kind of song you’d want to play in a club and I think it was set in a club. Anyways that’s all for now

Some more of Sunidhi’s songs for you to enjoy

Belibaas(Silsilay)

Solemia (if you’re feeling for a bit of Sunidhi Chauhan style salsa) & Dupatta Beiman Re(Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao)

Deewana Dil Deewana(have no idea what movie it is from, but it is highly enjoyable)

Rabba De De Deewani(Pyare Mohan)

Warning- song is highly contagious and infectious, do not listen to every day or you will become hooked on this song; believe me, I’m hooked on this song. I think it is more because of Nikita Nigam than Sunidhi Chauhan but since both girls sang well, I’ve chosen it as one of Sunidhi’s best as well. If this song doesn’t get you on your toes, nothing will.

Oh What A Babe(Rakht)

Dil Mein Jaage(Sur) - **try singing this song. it’s more difficult than singing Satrangi Re(Dil Se). for amateurs like me I mean. But seriously, this is a difficult song to sing and Sunidhi did a marvelous job.
