After reading the wonderful reviews that preceded this one, written by some of Mouth Shuts best writers, I could not resist the urge to dream on paper along with them.
What Five Gifts Would I Choose?
If given the opportunity to just ask and receive five gifts, which five would I choose. After thinking about it for a second, (because after all, I do tend to dream a bit at times), I narrowed them down to the following.
1. * Peace
I understand to some this would sound like a very corny thing to list on the very first spot, but it is true. I wish that people would stop the focusing on how many differences there are between nationalities and races and instead focus on how many similarities there are. I rarely listen to the news, and might pick up a newspaper once in six months, part of the reason for this is I feel so bad for the wars and fighting. I feel for all the innocent people that are drug into these senseless wastes of resources. Okay, with the first one out of the way, now onto more lighter items.
2. * College Funds For Both My Kids
Even with all the grants and loans that are available, I wish I did not have to worry about having the money to send my two children to college.
3. * My Own Recording Studio
Okay, this one sounds a bit self centered, but hey, after all, these are the gifts I would enjoy. I have to travel to go to the studio to record, and because I also home school both my children and design graphics, most of the time there is an conflict of scheduling between me and the studio. As a result, I spend a lot of time waiting to get into the studio.
There, that was my two big ticket items, and one strong wishing item. Now, onto the smaller items.
I LOVE to travel and learn new things. I travel at the drop of the hat if money and resources are available for me to do so. An all expense paid cruise would be wonderful!
I am ashamed to say, I too, would like to have plenty of money. The reasons are endless as to what I would do with that money. I would love to help out animals, offer to send kids and adults to college, donate substantial amounts to the different charities that I support or have supported in the past. And there would be other things to be sure, things for myself and my family.
So there you have my very list of desired gifts, albeit, shallow gifts in a way, nevertheless, ones that I would not mind getting at all.
