Five Hindi Films Which Did Not Deserve To Be Hits

You all must have heard a very famous Hindi proverb ’’Allah meharbaan to gadha pehalwaan’’.And this proverb applies to our own kabhi khatta kabhi meetha pyaara bollywood too.

From the years we have seen the movies which were highly anticipated to be hit, have let down every one. But as there are two facets of coin, similarly there are such movies which don’t deserve to be hit but they were declared as hit.

So here am I with my list of my 5 bollywood movies which were HIT but they don’t deserve to be.

#1. Raja Hindustani (1996)

Karishma Kapoor goes to some hill station for vacation and stays with a family where she

fell for innocence of Aamir.After some clash between high society and low society they marry each other. Later on step mom of Karishma tries to dig a ditch between them and later on a happy ending.

Well to me this movie Raja Hindustani, remake of yesteryear Shashi Kapoor and Nanda starrer classic ’’Jab Jab Phool Khile’’, was really a headache, but I was surprised when it was declared a hit.

This movie was having nothing to offer accept a good performance by Aamir Khan. As this movie was a surprise hit for me so were the songs. I remember that ’’Pardesi Pardesi’’ song. It was hitting the charts that time but it was seriously song made Truckwaalas and Paanwaalas.I found this song too irritating and this movie, only god knows how was declared Hit.

#2. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. (2000)

Cast Hrithik Roshan, Amisha Patel, Anupam Kher

Daughter (Amisha) of a Safedposh wrongman (Anupam Kher) is in love with a poor guy (Hrithik).But the daddy of our heroine doesn’t like him so he knocks him off. Our Pyaari heroine is in a deep sadma and lo here comes the same to same hero. Later on Dusra Hrithik reveals the truth of Amisha’s Father to her and movie is over.

The very first movie of Hrithik Roshan and Amisha Patel. Can you believe a movie without any story can be a hit? To Answer this question, Here it is “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’’.

A movie with no story line at all, but it was a hit of its time. The only driving factor for the movie was Songs and Hrithik Roshan’s charming look. But was it enough to make a movie Hit. I don’t think so. May be ’’K’’ factor and the Twin thumb of Hrithik Roshan worked for this movie.

#3. Murder (2004)

Two college time friends (Emraan and Mallika) meet each other on crossroads of life one day. Mallika is married to Ashmit but never had feeling of being married to him. Then starts the story of love, betrayal, trust and confessions between the three.

Before writing anything for this movie, let me tell u one thing. While I was making up my mind which movie should be included here, I haven’t thought of Murder. I was just surfing the net to find if there is any movie which I may have misplaced from my own internal movie database (In my Mind)

for this particular criteria. And I found MURDER as HIT in some site. I never knew that murder was a Hit. This was a real surprise for me and sort of Murder of the movies which are really HIT.

Murder, remake of Hollywood flick ’’Unfaithful”. This movie was never at par with the

original. Though most of the scenes were exactly copied from the original but this movie according to me was not up to the mark, and to be hit. Oh my god, how this move can be a hit.

What I guess the only thing which made this Movie hit was Miss Mallika Sherawat and some sizzling songs accompanied by more sizzling Picturisation.

Do you think there was any other point for which you all have seen this movie????

#4. Karan Arjun (1995)

Cast Sharukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kajol, Mamta Kulkarni, Amrish Puri

An old mother(Rakhi) looses her two loving sons (Sharukh and Salman) to the Thakur(Amrish Puri). She is waiting for her sons, She believes they will come back to take revenge from Thakur. Her sons take rebirth and circumstances make them meet and in the end eliminates Thakur for sake of revenge.

Wow!!! Another movie from the Roshan’s camp and once again movie with double role. But this time it’s more dhamaka as double role plus Double hero.

According to me this movie was in same genre as Subhash Ghai’s RAM LAKHAN.Movie was based on same theme with, A mother with his two sons seeking revenge from Thakur.The only difference being this was a story based on punarjanam (re-birth). But Karan Arjun was miles away from what Ram Lakhan was. Even the characters were more or like same and played by same actors.

Only pro of the movie was Sharukh Khan and Salman khan. They both were riding on the success at that time.

#5. Mohabattein (2000)

Cast Sharukh Khan, Amitabh Bachhan, Aishwarya Rai

Well Mohabattein , remake of ’’The Dead Poet’s Society’’ , is an another example of a movie which got the tag of HIT just because of its songs and Starcast.And to be true, on the name of starkest only Sharukh Khan and Amitabh Bachhan.Rest of the star cast was new, and surprisingly most of the song were sung by the newbie’s too. Though the songs were well deserved to be hit, but the movie was not at all Hit.

Neither a justified story nor the performance, but movie sailed to be a hit. How God knows.
