I was not able to get my hands on the books till recently but I finally got it from Delhi Book House and I cant tell you what a treat it was to go through the book. With all its fiction, reality, substance of romance and insight the book was a sheer treat. As soon as I began reading the book I was totally into it and could not put it down. I had my lunch and coffe with it( so in a way I dated three guys at one go;-) I happen to have friends from IIT as well as the IIM’s and had often heard them crib about the place and I could relate to their cribs while going through the book. easy narrration made it storylike and drama of it had me engrossed. I could feel myself going wow at the romance and go ’’Dont Do it ’’ at the episode of stealing papers. The romance was real suttle and made me smile. But the best part about it was the fact that I could relate to certain charecters as people I have met and dealt with(which says words for reality in the book). I came across a news peice saying that the book might be made into a movie. I would look forward to seeing the movie and hope it is able to keep the essence of the book intact. Me and a friend were discussing the book the other day and I told him it is not a book a father would want to read about IIT but it is a book a son should read about IIT. When I was reading the book I was thinking of passsing it over to my Uncle who also did his engineering from IIT delhi way back in 1972 but as I read it I told myself it wont be a good idea.
