What would you say if someone gave you Dil Chahata Hai in a more down to earth format?? Well thats exactly what this book is all about.
Chetan (I am already on first name with him even if I dont know him!!!!) writes in such a fluid prose that it is difficult to believe he is a first timer. One by one he introduces his main characters, Hari , the guy through whose eyes the story is told is a normal kid you would encounter. Theres Alok, a perrinial pessimist and Ryan, flambyonce personified.
All the characters finely defined and appear very real. The trials and tribulations faced by any hostelite are nicely etched. Like the ragging or the rooftop drinking hideouts or the curtailed expenses at the end of the month!! All spot on Chetan!!
Only one sore point . Pray what about Haris troubled childhood?? All we get is just a mention in Ryans monologue!!
But other than that it is a fatastic read.
Dont wait for that rainy day when you have nothing to do. Go grab a copy NOW and relive your glory days.
DONT WE ALL WANT TO GO BACK TO OUR HEADY MEMORIES???
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!!!!!
