A very ordinary book

Sorry to disappoint everyone who loves the book so much but I found the book very very ordinary. In fact, if the IIT tag were not associated with the book, I probably would not have even bought the book.

The whole book could have been set in V standard in some school and the friends could well have been Limbu, timbu and chintu. The storyline is immature. Take this for instance : When these guys have a test the next day, they bunk and goto a movie due to which they screw up the test.

So they decide to study more seriously for a while ! What on earth is that about?! I didnt know college students even attended exams. We bunked more exams than we attended! What is so great about this incident?!

Then there is this whole, friends breaking up and then a silly ’’i want us to get back’’. It was embarrassing to read 20-somethings talk like they were in kindergarten! There is not much chemistry between the friends at all.

Booze on the rooftop is like the most common thing amongst college goers. So whats so great about that?!

The only interesting chapters are the ’’Longest Day of my life’’ series. I have heard so many interesting college anecdotes and IIT practises/lingo. This book doesn’t match even one of the stories I have seen/ heard.

The book claims to be an ’’English August’’ set in IIT. Please do not degrade a book like ’’English August’’ (EA). EA gets into the mind of the protagonist. This book does not even skim the top. There are no apparent similarities whatsoever.

Sorry guys, this book is a disappointment ... If you have read the book, you would know what I’m saying, if you havent, trust me and give the book a miss ...
