This book is only for IITians. This is what some people mentioned to be before I began reading this book. They couldnt be farther from reality. This book is a great read for anyone who has been in college, is in college or will be in college sometime in future.
This is a story of three friends - Ryan, Hari and Alok. Ryan and Alok are as different from each other as chalk is from cheese. The third guy Hari is the one who has narrated this book. The only thing which binds them together is their friendship. Ryan is a carefree rich brat who hates his parents. He does not care about rules, grades and other usual stuff. He (and Hari) thinks he is supercool. Alok is a lower middle class nerd who is weighed down by family pressures. The only ambition in his life is to land a good job, so that he can get a full time nurse for his father and marry his sister off. Hari, well he commits the biggest sin - he loves a professors daughter. The book is full of incidents, moments and anecdotes. It tells us how not to screw our lives.
This is not a preachy book, but still ends up giving us vital lessons in life. Wouldnt reveal anything further...coz if I do, the whole fun of reading the book will be lost.
The best part about the book is it autobiogriphical style. Other merits worth mentioning are characterization and racy narrative. It evokes a feeling of nostalgia as well.
Demerits - None (even a critic like me could not come up with one!!!)
Go buy it now and enjoy!!!
