I just couldnt resist writing a review on this.
Unfortunately, I could only come up with 4 Bollywood actors/actresses for this list. If anyone has anymore suggestions then please let me know. I feel most of the other stars are decent or at least passable. Well except for these four! I dont view them in any particular order but thought it would look better if I numbered them for easy reading purposes. They are all equally bad!!!
- Abhishek Bachchan
I dont even know where to start with this clown or joker. Does he actually think he is doing a good job? He doesnt even peak at the "average" standard. He falls flat when it comes to portraying romantic characters (like in "Kuch Naa Kaho".) He comes across as rather odd, unnatural, and extremely uncomfortable in most song sequences.
He does not know how to dance and should never be given dance songs in my opinion! Please spare me the agony. Perhaps thats why he was at least tolerable in a few movies like "Guru, " "Dhoom, " "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, " and "Refugee." The focus was not on romance and there was little or no dancing. He does better with serious roles since he just cant seem to show much expression in his face to begin with. When he tries to act so called "funny, " he overacts to the point of utter silliness and stupidity (like in "Bunty aur Babli, " "Salaam Namaste, " and "Dostana.")
Furthermore, Abhishek needs major dancing lessons! He may get better with practice or he may not. Some people just have two left feet and cant follow rhythm!
Please feel free to read my other review on why I dont feel he is suited for Bollywood. The review is called "Not suited for Bollywood!!!"
- Salman Khan
Yes, I will admit I liked Salman way back in the day. I thought he was so cute in "Maine Pyar Kiya." I also loved the movie because of Bhagyashrees sweet character, the songs, and the plot. It was a typical love story but conveyed such innocence, simplicity, and love for its two protagonists. I also liked Salman in the ever popular "Hum Aapke Hain Koun!" While some may say Madhuri Dixit stole the show, I think Salman did a fairly well job. The plot was okay but the songs were what made this movie a huge hit. Salman also delivered a knock out performance in the movie, "Tere Naam." His character was rather rough around the edges but he possessed a huge heart. He faught brutal injustice to those who were unfair. His undying love for Bhoomika Chawlas character, Nirjara, was strongly held together with shattered pieces of glass.
Why I dont like Salman?
I feel the above movies are an exception. I feel Salman has no acting ability whatsoever. He overacts and his acting comes across as irritating, silly, and artificial. He just doesnt possess a natural poise. I believe being natural is extremely important in the acting business. If you arent natural then how can you expect your audience to believe your character? Again, he needs acting lessons! Im not even going to get into his personal affairs and personality. This is only concerning his "on the set" work.
- Sanjay Dutt
Im not referring to Sanjays personal life. We all know that some people are "criminals." Im only talking about his on screen presence. I dislike him from his looks to his acting roles. Only exceptions are "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S." and "Lage Raho Munna Bhai" (the sequel). The roles portrayed in these movies suited his demeanor and physical appearance. He has horrible facial features including the constant "drunk and drugged up" look on his face. He appears to be overweight and not in shape either. I saw him in the movie, "BLUE" and was literally cringing during the "romantic song" with Lara Dutta. I do my best to avoid his movies as much as possible.
- Kareena Kapoor
Last but not least, Kareena Kapoor. She does have her share of reasonable movies like "Refugee, " "Aitraaz, " "3 Idiots, " and "We Are Family." She tends to give a decent performance when given "nerdy" roles (3 Idiots) or kinder roles (Aitraaz and We Are Family). I think Kareena was quite decent in Aitraaz partly due to Priyankas villain role. You cant help not liking Kareena in that film because shes an angel as opposed to Priyanka (the deceitful and revengeful devil). She also did well in "Chup Chup Ke" where she plays a mute girl. How did she manage not to talk during the entire film? Quite impressive.
However, her downfalls are her constant screaming (i.e. Jab We Met), crying (i.e. Kurbaan) and stuck up attitude (i.e. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham). She could give more "acting" and less "overacting." If you would like to read my other review on her, its called "Needs acting lessons!"
